Booking.com Discount via Ticketmaster

I purchased some tickets for an event in Melbourne via Ticketmaster. After the purchase I remember I was given a code for a 15% discount at booking.com, but I can't find the code. Is that a generic one? Any idea? I contacted Ticketek but no reply. TIA.

Well, if you're contacting Ticketek about a Ticketmaster promotion …

Someone posted this as a deal many moons ago.

It didn't get to the front-page and I get why. Booking.com changes its prices around a fair bit. If you visit with Shopback, you'll sometimes get a different price to if you type the URL in a private browsing session.

They're not particularly bad for the industry and I've just come to accept it. Potentially they are even better than most of their peers (provided its not a partner booking - they don't typically remove hotels when using partner links/deals and some other sites definitely do!). Judging by their deal history they've clearly go the ability to take 10% off their bookings without breaking a sweat.

Back to your Ticketmaster "deal", I think you were meant to click a button and they send you an e-mail about it. It wouldn't surprise me, if the deal is the rates you get when you click through (no promo code) and I (and the ACCC) would expect at least some of those prices to be reduced by up to 15%.

To be honest online hotel booking sort of feels like a Gruen transfer, I have no idea if I'm getting the best or even a good deal. But at the end I mostly like having somewhere to sleep and haven't had too many issues (other than price) yet.
