Looking for a cheap mobile plan or prepaid

Hi all,

I'm looking for a cheap provider. I'm currently using LC "Starter Plan" $5 per month and it normally suits my needs. Unfortunately I went over my plan allowance a few times and got hit by high fees. I'm not a heavy user, around 200MB a month is enough.
I live in Melbourne city therefore any network would be fine.

Are there any better deals out for me?

Vaya,it's similar to LC's old plans and also an Optus reseller. Click on 3G flexi plans, http://www.vaya.net.au/?option=Mobile

    • I though the credit not included international call?

  • Kogan mobile plans unlimited call 6 gb data per months about $24 p/m if you pre pay entire year

  • +1

TPG $1 per month includes 50Mb of data, calls are 10c/min +10c flagfall, texts 10c each, data is 2.75c/Mb.
    Only downside is $20 sign-up fee and $20 pre-pay, so 1st month is $41.

  • For comparison:

I have my son on a Vodafone pre-paid (International Flexi-credit) plan of $20 per month; receives unlimited Vodafone to Vodafone calls, other calls 10c/min + 10c/flagfall, 15c texts, data of 25mb included.

We find the free Vodafone to Vodafone calls make this a worthwhile plan as we all use Vodafone.

I am on an old 3 (which transferred to Vodafone) plan of only $20 per month; I receive 300 free Vodafone minutes, 150 included text, and also 1 GB data. Calls to any landlines (other than Vodafone) are charged at 24c/10mins which comes out of the $20. Unfortunately you would not be able to secure this deal anymore though.

Good luck; hope you find a great deal that suits.

    • unfortunately, vodafone axed their old $19 plans and added $1 to all their new ones

    • How.much credit Vodafone they give you ?
Currently i am using 3 with $20.Its give $180 credit included international ,250mb and about 300mins call three to vodafone

  • Not Kogan Mobile - customer service and support is woeful. Might be Telstra network, but if anything goes wrong and you need help you're screwed. +1 on TPG.

  • Hi, I'm on same boat here. Have been enjoying Woolworths sim for a year but now need something long term. I think a while ago, there was Hello but not sure how it is now. How about Lebara and Lycamobil?

  • I am also in the same boat, and require a one month sim card for international visitors and I am tossing up between Vodafone (http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/prepaid/home/options/pre…), amaysim (http://www.amaysim.com.au/mobile-plans), TPG (http://www.tpg.com.au/mobile/pay-as-you-go), Vaya (http://www.vaya.net.au/?option=Mobile&CFID=10112857&CFTOKEN=…), TransACT (http://www.transact.com.au/en-ACT/mobile), lebara (http://www.lebara.com.au/mega/faqs), Dodo (http://www.dodo.com/mobile/prepaid-mobile-plans/unlimited-mo…), lyca (http://www.lycamobile.com.au/en/Unlimited-Calls-Offer), LC (http://www.liveconnected.com.au/mobile-plans), Woolworths (http://www.woolworthsmobile.com.au/woolworths-prepaid-cap),

But want a sim we can get ASAP, so in shop is our preferred option (unless these online onlys deliver same day) (we already have the Vodafone sim, but haven't put credit on it), as our visitors will only be here for a month.

They will be making international calls, using the internet and making domestic calls.

Who is the best to go with?
