I previously bought this for $15. Normally, it sells for $23, but the price has now dropped to $17. You get an additional 5% off if your checkout total exceeds $40. This model supports Matter, so it's slightly more expensive than the original Tapo light.

Nope, I wish they did. These latest Tapo Matter bulbs top out at 1055 lumen, it's a barely noticeable increase over the old 800 lumen bulbs.

If i turn this off in the app, and then off at the switch and then switch the switch on, will it turn on?

It can be selected in the app to either turn on once powered or revert to previous state.

ohhhhhhh my god, if this works with my current ones this will save me so much pain!

the older version is also on sale at $13. not a terrible price for those of us who don't have a hub

In your link 60w equivalent. The one in this deal is 75w equivalent.

This is has less lumens and it does not support the Matter protocol. However, this only matters if you specifically need devices that work with Matter. If you’re not sure what the Matter protocol is, or you don’t need it for your setup, then the lack of Matter support will not affect how you use your Tapo light.

Thanks

if you don't know what this is now, meaning that you will not want to use it in future is a risky way to argue.

Waiting for the E14 ones to come up on Amazon. They are full priced on the Tapo website.

Anyone compared these to a nanoleaf essentials rgb bulb?

Paid $20 from Amazon on 17 May. Got it to replace the Philips Hue A60, I love the colours/scenes available with Philips but the Bluetooth light was always taking way too long to connect everytime I needed to turn it on or off. In winter (weird I know) it takes even longer to connect.
Really happy with the Tapo so be far, it's wifi and connection is instant & continuous.

It's only $13 now

Normally a fan of Tapo products but have several of these specific L535E bulbs and they lose connection frequently. Have them inserted in lamps connected to Tapo Smart plugs and have an automation setup in Home Assistant that when they go unavailable, to turn off the smart plug and after a few seconds, turn the plug back on, to restore the WiFi connection of the bulbs. I wouldn't buy this specific L535E model again although I don't rule out maybe it is just my experience. No other issues with home WiFi so definitely the bulbs I have being the issue.

Could be your home wifi setup, could be that you've got some coverage issues/dead spots. Might also be wifi channel interference.
I've never had any connection issues with my Tapo and Kasa bulbs, they've been rock solid, both with Home Assistant as well as just using the mobile app. Been using the various models for close to a decade now, they comprise the majority of my home lighting, with the exception of a few Philips Hue lights and bulbs that I mainly use as extra Zigbee repeaters.

Are you using this specific L535E E27 model of bulb? Again I am referring to this specific model.
It's definitely not my home WiFi setup. One of them is literally located 80cm from the home TP-Link Mesh Unit and channel optimisation is regularly conducted.
Of all the smart bulbs I have tested, these specific Tapo L535E bulbs are the only smart product I have a problem with. If I revert to any other bulb brand, there is no issue. I haven't tried other models of Tapo bulbs, again just commenting on this specific model.

Yes. I'm using both the L535E (E27) and the L535B (B22) models of this bulb. I too am using a TP-Link Deco mesh wifi router. I hope you're able to find a solution to the dropout problems.

LeftEyeRight1871 I have the same problem. I have them on a deck and patio. They forget their settings if turned off for extended periods. Like you I have no problems with home wifi.

I have one of these bulbs and 2 of the P110M powerpoint thingoes, they seem to have an issue where Google Home stops communicating with Tapo. At least for me anyway, I can still control stuff through Tapo but I have to reconnect Tapo in Google home if I want my devices to be controllable again.
I tried connecting via matter thinking it might bypass the problem but I cant seem to get any TP-link matter stuff to work, both using the code in the box and a QR code generated through the tapo app.

Out of the three brands of smart bulbs I've tried these particular bulbs are my least favourite, twice now in the Google home app there's a weird issue where I have to reconnect the tapo account/service for things to start responding again. The devices are still connected to wifi and can be controlled through the tapo app though

Got JB hi-fi to price match via live chat. Have heard it can be hit and miss doing that, but i had no issue whatsoever

Do they make one that's 100w equivalent like Philips do?
