55” TV Recommendations under $1000

My Hisense TV of a little over 5 years decided to quit on me recently.

I’m looking to purchase a 55” TV some time this week and I’ve found that the Hisense 55” U6NAU might fit my needs.

I’ve read that Hisense is horrible and should be avoided but given my experience with my current Hisense that died on me after 5 years (cost around $600 new) I’m not as hesitant to purchase another Hisense that has the 3 years warranty.

Anyways, is it a good time to buy now considering EOFY or wait a little longer?

I mostly watch YouTube and 4K movies.

I’m open to other 55” suggestions under $1000 preferably around $800 or so.

Second hand LG OLED (C1 or newer).

Ffalcon 55 for $499. I've got a 2024 model and happy with it. Runs 24/7 for my security camera system, very quick compared to my old Soniq which is not smart.

I would buy another Ffalcon when the time comes.

I'm pretty sure the 2025 Ffalcon 55" is a rebranded TCL. My partner recently purchased one and it had all the TCL bloatware/menus/options as my c655. Runs just as smooth. Spewing as it's quite a few bucks cheaper.

Yes, Ffalcon is made by TCL (and I think has been for a while) so its a great option.

      • TCL has 3 year warranty vs FFALCON 1 year.

    TCL (Telecom Corporation Limited)

I came across Philips TV(50 inch for 595$) at JB Hifi with 3 years warranty. Very tempting warranty for price ratio.

Since when has 5 years been viewed as a reasonable lifespan for a TV? 5 years is a piece of garbage.

My last two have gone for over ten years each, and the only reason I upgraded was for bigger screens.
