eBay Bulky Item Received Damaged

I recently bought a kids table from eBay. From a opened but never used store.

The item was damaged when opened.

They then sent another replacement that was damaged again.

The seller is offering a 30 dollar refund.

Or full refund if I return the item.

Couple of questions.

Do they pay for returns. So I need to bring both 20kg boxes to the post office.

What sort of partial refund would you accept

      100 dollars
      1000 dollars
      10,000 dollaroo

if it was less than 100 and the damage is not bad, you have two tables and 30 bucks. and you could sell it on facebook

When you initiate a return you will get a label generated by Ebay. You shouldn't have to pay for anything.

Was the item transported via APosts usual Pet Detective methodology?

Fun story - I ordered a bulky item from Amazon once and it was damaged. Australia Post wouldn't accept it because it was too big so I used a drop saw to cut it up into many small pieces. Sent it back in a small box and got my money back.

    • Yes, APost are their own worst joke. As a trusted essential carrier they have totally ruined their once fantastic reputation and performance.

    • Surprised they made you send it back - bought an ironing board once from them (about $50), and they sent the wrong colour. Just told me to keep it. Was a number of years ago though, these days they seem to make you send back stuff that costs more in postage than the item itself.
