Hi OP can you also recommend a starter Beyblade? My son asked for one for his birthday and I have no clue. Which type of launcher is best? Ripcord or string?
Does he need the stadium to play Beyblade?

To be honest I don’t know a lot about beyblades but my son get beyblade-x from target that seem to be the cheapest you need to make sure you get one with a launcher in the pack as well.
Yeah you need a stadium, the idea is they ‘battle’ them. I guess you could use some other type of thing to hold them in.
I think Kmart has stadiums for around $15 as well which are more basic and don’t fold up
The meta beyblades are the pheonix wing with the string launcher and wizard rod.
The new beyblade x stadiums have rails with teeth. Basically, it the beyblades have gears thats can grip the teeth of the rails to do a 'extreme dash'. It's a major feature of this new series, so the stadiums are a good idea.
String and ripcord are on par. It's really personal preference, but the pheonix only comes as a set, so might want to start there. Otherwise, there will be a new longer rip cord coming in the future as seen on season 2 of the anime.
