Samsung Laptop warranty - Sydney

Hi Guys

I have bought one of the ozbargain deal with the samsung i7 laptop and xmas eve 2012, it does not turn on all the sudden and rang Samsung customer care and gave me two places near by my place. one is in granville and one in minchibury. Until last week still has not got call from them and i tried ring more than 5 times, no joke!, but never got answer at all. I asked my dad to go there to check with them and the guy from the repair store told me over the phone (my dad ring me while he is in the store) saying it was software issues and warranty does not covered and i will need to pay $99 to repair. how could software issues to cause the laptop could not turn on at all. After that i asked if the laptop can be turn on now and he said yes then i've declined the software repair as i can work out myself as long as the laptop can be turned on. He told my dad that he going to call him when the laptop is ready and until today still no call yet.

Does you guys have any issue with this store as i assume should be alot samsung laptop user in Sydney, right?
Also which Samsung laptop service centre is the best based on your experience?

  • i had a big problem like this with asus, but i got mine just before the law changed unfortunatly but your lucky now you have a right to get refund without giving them a chance to repair. i took them to the tribunal - and yes they are responsible for software regardless of what they want you to believe. they always try to pull that bs, they say its software and warranty doesnt cover (before they even look to actually even know) its just to make you go away so they dont have to fix it. mine was not software they are just a bunh of liars. if i were you i would either get a replacement or a refund, dont stuff around with their bs.

    • Hi Kwaker,

Thanks for your reply, however, where do you find regarding "they are responsible for software regardless of what they want you to believe. they always try to pull that bs, they say its software and warranty doesnt cover".

What should i do now, the laptop still with the service centre or somewhere where he sent it away for repair. Once i got the laptop back can i bring it back to jbhifi to claim for refund or replacement or repair instead?

      Regards
