Replacement Earbuds for Sennheiser Momentum 2 True Wireless

Hi Ozbargain Crew

I need some help finding a replacement for my Sennheiser Momentum 2 True Wireless earbuds. Bought in 2020 and had one replacement in 2022. The right earbud has suddenly stopped playing music (but weirdly the other functions work still work).

I just purchased the soundcore by Anker Liberty 4 NC and can immediately notice a difference in transparency mode/ANC. Sennheiser's was much clearer and I think my ears are used to that. The Sennheiser's also sound 'fuller' if that makes any sense.. so I might return these sadly.

Can anyone recommend anything similar to the Momentum?

I know the Momentum 4's are only sale for $260 for now but money's tight and I'm trigger shy to buy another pair if they die after 2 years..

Price range maybe $100 - $150ish?

Thanks in advance!

  • Have you tried to reset them?

Yes, you can reset Sennheiser earbuds, both through a soft reset and a factory reset. The specific process depends on the model of your Sennheiser earbuds.
    Soft Reset:
    Sennheiser TV Clear:
Press and hold the button on each earbud for 15 seconds, then place the right earbud in the case, wait 5 seconds, and then place the left earbud in the case and wait 5 seconds.
    Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless:
Use the Sennheiser Smart Control app to select the earbuds from the device list, then navigate to settings and select "Factory Reset".
    Factory Reset:
    Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless:
Remove the earbuds from the Bluetooth device list on your smartphone. Place the earbuds in the charging case and, within 60 seconds, touch and hold the right and left touch control panel for at least 30 seconds.
    Sennheiser CX True Wireless:
Place the earbuds in the charging case and, within 60 seconds, touch and hold the right and left touch control panel for at least 30 seconds.
    Sennheiser Sport True Wireless:
You can factory reset through the Sennheiser application by selecting "Factory Reset" in the settings.

    • Thanks for the suggestion! I tried but no luck unfortunately :( there's no audio coming out of the RHS earbud

  • I moved from Sennheiser to JBL a few years ago. I purchased some at the time flagship Live Pro TWS earbuds. I'm happy with the JBL sound, fit and function. I do use the EQ on the app as I think there are better settings than default. I remember thinking they were 'close' to Sennheiser after a bit of tweaking.

I think the Sennheiser sound signature is perfect and I've been a long time fan. I often look up the Momentums to see if they have dropped their price, but no.

I can't bring myself to spend $200-300 on the Momentums when I can get 90% of the experience for far less.

JBL have a large range, I'm sure you'll find something that suits your needs.

    • Thank you for the advice :) my partner has JBLs and really likes them so I’ll explore.

I agree Sennheiser sounds great but I’m feeling the budget crunch so probs won’t go for that $250+ price tag anytime soon. But they were great while they lasted.

      • The Sennheiser store (outlet) has the momentum 3 TWS refurbished for $179 ATM if you're still looking for a replacement set
