First Nintendo console in eight years and no one here talking about it. I don't have it yet. But wondering what y'all who got one today think.

🥱
Jv - curious, what video games do you typically prefer to play anyway? Any particular game is a favourite from throughout the years?
Ever played bayonetta?
Haha. jv’s favourite game is trolling ozb
Worth it. 10x better than the switch 1. Never really liked my switch 1. Always felt like a cheap toy with a kinda crap screen. I was spoiled by pc gaming but now I feel like I might play more on my switch than my 3k aud PC. It doesn't mean I won't use my PC but like you don't even need to dock the switch for a really good high quality experience. The screen is really good.
Never had the Switch 1 but this is excellent so far. My only gripe is the ergonomics when playing handheld mode as there is not much grip or contouring on the backside of the Switch. It's so smooth it feels like I could drop it anytime as it's quite heavy. I'm used to my PS5 Dualsense and Portal, so I wish there was an ergonomic version of the Joycon that could be swapped in ad hoc. Not sure how it would fit in current carry cases though.
Ergonomics are terrible. The Switch Lite was fine, but the others will result in hand pain very quickly. It doesn’t bother me because I play docked 99.99% of the time. But there are attachments available to make playing handheld a whole lot more comfortable.
Bought this for my 2 years old, she loves it but my wife doesn't. So ended up using it non-stop. Told my wife I will be better with my present next time.
A 2 year old?
Got my Switch 2 delivered at 10AM yesterday morning — my very first Nintendo console, and don't know what to expect of it. Set it up on the TV last night and played Mario Kart for 10 minutes, and turned off because I was needed elsewhere. It was okay. Now trying to borrow some classic Switch games from friends to get the journey started.
It'll be a biased sample… Noone who spends $750 on a console like this will be saying how trash it is. Only big fans will be dropping that sort of cash on it.
Nope, I got the PS5 Pro day one like the Sony sucker that I am, and was pretty disappointed and still am. Especially with PSSR and the very few titles that have a dedicated Pro mode that combines performance and fidelity modes.
I have the Xbox Series S and it’s gathered dust from day 1. I have the PS5 and it gathers dust after playing the few games on it that seemed worthwhile. The PS5 V2SR headset I have and that has a thick layer of dust on the box.
Sounds like money well spent. What’s the next one you’re gonna get?

no one is here talking about it cos they're all playing on the switch 2
This, I was just here while taking a break.
Nice upgrade so far. Will probably try the upgraded games today.
Great upgrade from my V1 switch, but as of now it’s more of a Switch pro than a true sequel. I probably wouldn’t upgrade if I had the OLED switch unless you have to play Mario Kart World right now. Better to wait for more Switch 2 exclusives and any potential deals or mid generation upgrades.
Looks like from the moulding process.
Yer it’s like a lighter colour swirl in the plastic
Anyone else get this? It’s only really visible under light and tilted like in photos but OCD kicks in and ahhhhhh
Maybe a couple of wet wiping clips remove it?
I know what you mean by the OCD kicking in. Thankfully it doesn’t appear to affect my switches 2
Yeah I noticed something similar on my dock, but on the front, and probably not as bad as yours. When I was setting it up, the sunlight hit it in the right way and it was noticeable. I initially thought it was just dust or something, I was trying to wipe it off, but no, it's a very slight discolouration in the plastic.
Happy with the purchase.
Initial videos on YT show Switch games that had performance issues on Switch 1 (e.g. Bayonetta 3, multiplayer on Smash Bros) seem to be running better on Switch 2.
The wait was worth it.
Will definitely pick up a Switch 2 OLED (if it's released).
Yeah some of the jumps in quality are amazing. Even though I've acquired copies of a lot of Switch 1 games for my OG Switch and soon to be modded OLED Switch, I might actually buy some of them to play on Switch 2 for the improved performance.
For the first time I can actually play table top with no issues seeing things in the game super clear and actually enjoying the games.
The switch 1 screen was too tiny for me to do this comfortably.
The feeling of epic/ tech/ fidelity/ innovation jump from 16bit to 32bits (snes/ md to Saturn/ ps1/ n64) can never be beaten. (Close second is ps1/ n64 to ps2/ gc)
Moved from my V1 switch 1,
Switch 2 tech, hardware and screen is really impressive - but I am indifferent that it’s using the same ui interface. I like that it has GC classics now.Family can’t see the diff between MKW & MK8D 🤷♂️
Bring on donkey kong banana split & Metroid 4.
(Also the new Zelda’s, Mario’s etc.)(Hopefully Sega decides to release ‘Sega Saturn classics app in there too as a follow-up to mega drive app)
I think something like true virtual reality will be an even bigger jump. When your brain thinks you're really in the game, and you can look down at your body, and feel wet cobblestones if you reach out and touch them. Maybe one day..
At such an early stage, I can only really judge it based on my enjoyment of the only new and worthwhile launch title, Mario Kart World. And on that basis, I'd say I'm quite happy with it. Ask me again in 6 month's time.
I've found myself playing more switch 1 titles on my switch 2.. currently finishing links awakening. Mario Kart World is nice though.
wonderful, worth upgrading
