they made a series on Avatar wow didnt' know this.
O Actually not what I was thinking lol.
Yep, it's a brilliant series. Have just seen it through the second time with my son. I enjoyed it as much as he did; it's not even doing jokes at multiple levels (e.g. like the Simpsons), but is just all round funny, wholesome, philosophical, and a good story.
Thanks @prophet, got this for the family.
Yes, it’s worth it.
It’s definitely suitable for kids and not explicitly aimed at adults, but it also doesn’t talk down to its audience.
It also grows with its audience and there are moments later in the series that will legitimately shock you.
Most importantly, it stays strong all the way through and ends satisfyingly.
It’s legit one of the best shows of all time.
Great series, seen twice and enjoyed just as much second time. Special mention to Tales of Ba Sing Se episode in season 2. It doesn't shy away from difficult themes, but treats them with care and respect. The whole show is like a life lesson, promoting good values, but delivered through light-hearted comedy. I would recommend it to anyone
That episode is a masterpiece. When I re-watched the whole series again and Iroh starts singing "Leaves from the Vine" to cheer up the crying boy in the street, I myself teared up for the first time in years because I knew he would soon sing it again less cheerfully. Iroh's interaction with the mugger almost balances it out though.
And Sokka and the poetry club! I'm so tempted to write off the rest of my afternoon and start watching it all again!
Yes this discussion has me feeling that way myself, but I must resist!
I can never get myself to watch Japanese type cartoons because they don't have enough frames of motion like Disney cartoons that look smooth and real. The Japanese cartoons is like watching 90% still photos with the mouth moving up and down. It's weird.
It's on Netflix as well if you already have the subscription. Awesome series, worth watching
