75inch TV Help - Want to Buy Today

Haven’t purchased a new TV for a long time - current 55inch isn’t cutting it anymore …… Going to go to a 75inch that’s the maximum size for the area we can do.

Went to one store today - had my eyes on a TCL 75P7K for the price I thought it looked ok ? But then the sales guy was bamboozling me with “refresh” rate talk and blurry vision talk and basically the was upselling me to spend another $800 plus TV arrghh - was a Hisense one 75U6QAUPRO

Im not watching anything fancy , just streaming shows and occasional football games , no gaming etc

$1500 budget - surely i can get a good deal ?

  • If you watch afl high refresh (with frame fill tech) can be a nice feature.

  • I bought a Hisense 75Q6NAU from AppliancesOnline last month for $1,037 delivered and paired it with a HiSense HS-2100 soundbar (Choice recommended model) at $199 from The Good guys.

State of Origin matches looked fantastic despite the comparatively low refresh rate!

Hisense is trash. You were on the right path with TCL.

Unfortunately, it's a bad time of year to be buying TVs. New models have been out for a few months and all of last year's models have sold out and prices are high.

    Maybe a Sony refurb: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285787081643

Unless you're a gamer who knows exactly what high refresh rate displays are for and how to use them ignore any salesmen yapping about it. All streaming, film and broadcast TV is 60Hz or lower.

    • Three Hisense TVs here.

      40", 55" and 75".

      All perfect.

      • They make inferior products for the Australian market. Personally, I'm not interested in rolling the dice on something I have no clue how it performs.

  • @Op - @ELH05 … since you said TCL in post.
Guessing you are siding on cheaper side.

Have owned 2x Samsung + mum has LG (4K).
If I was to buy a brand new tv again … I would be going TCL.

Cheap as chips + do what they say they do.
Heck… Mine sites are updating tv's == TCL.

Just sharing that I had a Hisense P7 from 2018. Loved it. Picture quality and brightness all V ERY impressive to me, especially at the price point I got it. Hooked to my Playstation and I loved it.

Unfortunately, it developed an issue in 2023.. Screen was still perfect but it would randomly turn off. A repair centre said it looked like motherboard issue and that they can no longer source motherboards for it. I looked around and all I could find were pre-owned motherboards and while I'm reasonably tech savvy, I didn't feel like cracking open a TV was in my bailiwick. Sold it for parts or as is. In my description I mentioned that someone who knows stuff about electronics might be lucky as the screen itself was still golden. When he came over to inspect it, the thing was turning on and performing beautifully. I told him, it intermittently turns off, and he said, it'll be alright and we loaded it onto his ute.

I'm not having a go at Hisense. Like I said, for the few years that I had it, I was more than satisfied. I was just disappointed that when an issue developed, I could no longer get it repaired.
