    • don't worry I got targeted and didn't get my $5 off $50 during amazon sale even though every single category had a %.

they change T&C's regularly so could be anything that makes you ineligible. just one of those ineligibles and you don't get anything.
I also noticed they sneakily added a "ineligible category 0%" at the very bottom. so what is a ineligible category? I guess it can be anything.

      • Not every single category had a % for that amazon promo.

        • I don't have any screenshot to prove, but I check the % every time I click through. and specifically remember while going down seeing 0.5% on every single category that didn't have a high %. (like 9/10 category was 0.5%)
and there was just one unclear category at the bottom which was something like "ineligible category 0%".

I didn't shop straight after I got the $5 off promo btw. waited awhile maybe early on there was more 0% categories.

          • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: I screen-recorded the end-to-end process when I participated in the last promo, and the screenshots are from the recording taken on 8 June. It's possible that the percentages have changed during the promotion. However, from what I remember, Cashrewards always had 0% categories for Amazon, while TopCashback is the one that pays cashback for all categories.
All 3 cashback platforms had bonus cashback for Amazon during the mid-year sale, I only used Cashrewards as its spend target for the bonus was the lowest.

            • @deliriouss:

However, from what I remember, Cashrewards always had 0% categories for Amazon,

I have also been using Cashrewards for 2 years now pretty familiar with it.

often during these bonus $5 promo, I almost always see all categories have a % when I click through, usually very very low though like 1% or 0.5%.

I used to have no problems with bonuses tracking earlier on when I started using CR. they offered them a lot more too.

but I noticed more recently, they switch around T&C's and % to make it more difficult to become eligible.
for example I had a period for almost 2 months where all my CR's (no bonuses just cents) weren't tracking. then next shop I noticed they changed the T&C's to be ineligible if you used partial or full payment with giftcard. then next time I checked they switched it back and my giftcard purchases started tracking again. πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

              • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: Wow, that sounds dodgy! I don’t use CR as much as I used to; things were easier when TA worked for them.
I have learned my lesson with SB, so I just screen record these days and keep the recording until the cashback is confirmed.

                • @deliriouss: yeah in the beginning it was great. especially if you are young I was loving it. most of my cashback was from bonuses, all legit btw sent to my own spam folder.

I probably got back over $200 in the first year, mostly bonuses because I'm not a big spender.

then suddenly things started to change, I think CR was bought by ANZ. they weren't getting enough clicks/users or whatever so regular bonuses suddenly stopped. noticed tracking became less reliable, at first I would follow them up and make sure I got it. but after awhile just stopped bothering for 30c~$1.30 cashback per purchase. just told myself I got enough back early on, and whatever tracks from now is fine.
I've been more successful tracking recently because I check the % categories and T&C's quickly every time.
