I need a 3.5mm stereo cable(both side male)… price is like 10 dollars at JB Hi-Fi… I think that's too much.
I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me where i can pick up some cheap ones.
And a VGA cable to connect my notebook to a monitor… only have a DVI cable.
Need some audio and VGA cables...

As for the 3.5mm audio, anything longer than 30cm will do.
You can always find cheap cables on Ebay from sellers in Asia. You just need to be willing to wait for shipping which will take a week or two if it's from Asia. There's also a lot more options than any physical store will carry so chances are you'll find the exact connections and length you want.
If you work in an organisation that is large enough to have an IT department (even if it's just one employee) ask them if they can spare a VGA cable. The IT department at my work has so many spare that they'll gladly give them away.
If you know any PC geeks they will probably have a spare VGA cable too.
