Keyboard Recommendation: on The Move and Low Profile

I’ve had my MX Keys since the start of the pandemic and it’s been a great keyboard. Love the solid typing experience. But about a year ago, I tried a display keyboard at JW Computers and was surprised at how much better the typing feel and sound could be.

Recently, I dropped my backpack with the MX Keys inside, and now the control key is acting up. So I’m thinking it might be time for a new keyboard.

Here’s what I’m looking for:
- Lighter than the MX Keys (810g) — easier to carry around as I'm in 3 different workspaces every week.
- Low profile — I like the look
- Great typing feel with satisfying (but not too loud or high-pitched) click
- Full-size layout
- Preferably around under $100
- Productivity (spreadsheets etc) focused so I don't need all the bells and whistles but a good backlight would be appreciated

I've been getting ads on IG about LoFree's Flow (incl Lite) keyboards and I love the look and sound of it based on reviews. I would love to get some recommendations on if there are alternatives that might better value or better overall

    Wired or wireless?

    • Wireless as I'm on the go

  • Royal Clunge

  • I don't think you are going to get much options for full keyboard and also super light weight.

I got this for 1/3 the price it's been great.

reliable 2.4Ghz and replaceable AAA battery lasts years. the only thing I noticed after I opened the box and typed was the "pitch" between keys is a little less (like 1mm less) than your average keyboard. helps to shrink the total width a bit though which seems like you might like about it. it took a few weeks to get used to.

otherwise get something else in premium range from logitech. nothing else will be reliable.

  • I can tell you which keyboard not to buy - HP 975.
It's a great keyboard while it works, but it quickly develops double-typing issues, and the battery life is awful - about 2-3 days in my case.

    • the HP Envy I have has been great.

it does feel very solid and might be a bit heavier than the MX keys though. the key press has a quality feeling, similar to Apple Magic, Logitech MX keys mini and Logitech Keys to Go 2.
