We got any 5 year olds in the chat?

    • +2

      Leeroy is now 84 years

  • Where do you actually redeem these

    • +1

Depends on the club - easiest is to ask if they accept them

    • +1

Once they’ve released this round they’ll have a searchable list of eligible providers. You then contact the club or provider.

Good on the state govt for doing something the federal govt should.

    • -3

Give away cash for families, again?

      • +1

        Eat the rich

        • That'd be middle class welfare recipients

    • +1

The last State Government had this. This is just a continuation of theirs.

  • +2

Is this means tested like the fair play vouchers used to be?

    • +1

      Not any more

    • +1

Last round of Fair Play wasn’t means tested.

I hear that state money goes into schools well.

      Disgusting.

Screw the kids. Gets jobs you losers.

      • -1

As you didn't answer the question, I'll tell you - $139b, which will grow to $218b by 2028.

        • +6

So maybe tax the resource sector properly and this isn't an issue.

          • -4

            @wombat81: That's not the issue.
Most governments in Australia do not have an income problem, rather they have a spending problem. They waste too much, employ far too many people and impose ridiculous levels of red and green tape on themselves.

            • +1

@R4: Both things can be true, though.

            • +1

@R4: The government is not a business - it's job is not to make a profit.

              • @Trentgibbo3: Agree but most governments have forgotten that the money they manage is not theirs, but ours, and waste it on an industrial scale - Queensland's government being a prime example.

        • But the LNP are good with money?

          • @Jessie Ryder: No, but what's that got to do with it?

      • -3

Unironically (profanity) school. I graduated a few years ago, and it was all completely useless. Most of it was socialist propaganda. And most my cohort were violent people, who make me wish for another world war, cause some people are best served for the meat grinder, and I was forced to be near them. And it's obvious that most the students there don't give a shit.

Only people school is useful for are the few/rich people in private/selective. And even they learn the same socialist useless shit, they just get higher atars, cause teachers are actually paid to give a shit.

Defund school, put the money towards the economy/University. Make it so that kids just sit on their phones/laptops all day, and lock up any kids who are too loud. Why is so much money going towards glorified daycare?

      • Statistically speaking 100% of adults that have never worked a day in their lives were children. This holds true for people that have been incarcerated or committed acts of violence. Look it up. You'll be surprised at the atrocious things that people who were children have done.

      Mining royalties put to work

      • -1

        Current debt - $139b
        Projected debt by 2028 - $218b

So much for 'mining royalties put to work'!

  • -4

    Ah yes

Cost of living solved via a scheme constructed by lobbyists

  • +3

and now all sports activities will increase their price by $200 for no reason

    • +3

To be honest it hasn’t been like that. These vouchers have been around for a while under Labor (now LNP) and definitely don’t cover the full cost of participating in sport. They’ll cover part of one term. As kids participate in multiple sports they’ve still got to be competitive and financially viable enough to keep the club going. Most the clubs involved are not for profit as well. This does actually encourage parents to put their kid in sport and makes it more affordable for the ones who would have anyway. Many clubs like nippers and little athletics also have a lot of volunteers, so this money goes to community organisations.

        Thank you for saying this.

My kids have been doing the same activity for 6 & 9 years, respectively. We've had the fairplay vouchers applied 2-3 times now and it's a nice help but we still have to pay the rest of the year's fees, which we are happy to do.

My eldest is a volunteer coach, now, and it all started almost a decade ago with a fairplay voucher.

  • Thank God, my cars will be safe again in 50 days

    • Have we extended the border down to south of Sydney now?

  • +2

My daughter that does acrobatics - the school is not eligible. The neighbours kid does equestrian, and that is covered. Lol

    • sell your voucher to your neighbour? win/win?

      • U think someone who can hire/own a horse, cares about a measily 50-100 bucks?

        • You don't have to hire/own a horse to take lessons.

    • -3

Well excuse me. Adobe programs, and photoshop aren't considered a sport. It's supposed to be for physical recreation, not ur daughter sitting on her computer all day.

  • how many kids are there in Queensland… then compare that to how many households with power…???? should have given every household $200 power credit instead.

    • -1

So the kids can play video games?

      • sure whatever, but i dont have kids and i want my power

  • Has this ever covered any rockclimbing places? Does anyone know if I can use the voucher to buy new climbing shoes?

    • +1

Not for rock climbing shoes. It’s for club and participation fees.
