What about prevention? Keeping fingers off the glass is a good start. No smoking in the car. No kids having food fights. Dogs not nosing and licking the glass. No eating in the car unless you can only involve the process of eating properly.

Microfibre cloth and elbow grease.
I Just use plain water and a microfiber cloth
Take the windows off.
use 1:4 vinegar to water.
