FLAC is a lossless digital to digital copy of a CD so will sound identical. There’s really no reason for CDs to exist anymore.
Vinyl exists so hipsters can gaslight people by telling you they sound better when they’re actually objectively shit. It’s like claiming The Matrix is better when watched with cataracts.

I know right! It's less about "audio quality" and more about nostalgia and reliving memories of youth.
CDs still and probably always will have a purpose as a physical copy. I never buy digital, rip all my CDs to FLAC, and still enjoy browsing and selecting a physical CD to play.
