Mwave Has Been Placed into Administration and Acquired by digiDirect

Was sent this from an Rtx 50 series Instock discord server: EXCLUSIVE:Leading PC Retailer Placed Into Administration

"Leading PC retailer Mwave has been placed into administration. The Company that is well-renowned amongst PC enthusiasts and the gaming community was placed into administration last week; at this stage it’s not known the extent of their debt. Antony Resnick and Henry Ho Leung Kwok of DVT Group in Parramatta NSW have been appointed to liquidate the Company. The Company was controlled by Essel Pty Ltd whose key director is Victor Wei Lee, the managing director of the Company is listed as Mr. Phil Montrone."

Checked via the ABN details for Mwave which is ESEL PTY LTY

Then checked via the Asic website and yeah uhh they're in external administration now

It's not looking great, especially considering how many unfulfilled RTX 5090 preorders they still have

Update.

The digiDirect Group has acquired the Mwave business. We will continue to trade from our Lidcombe headquarters for the time-being before eventually transferring Mwave operations across to The digiDirect Group’s headquarters in South Strathfield in Sydney.

We are committed to fulfilling all orders swiftly and efficiently, maintaining the place in pre-order and backorder queues of all customers. We anticipate there will be a maximum of 2-3 days delay on any current available shipments as we work through a stocktake and change over courier accounts to new ownership.

Guess I can kiss my refund goodbye. Wondering now if they sent me someone else's RMA'd RAM hoping it would be fine for me.
Tues they said refund would be 2-3 days max due to the transition. Today they said there is now no ETA.

    • +1

I was told an ETA of 7 to 10 days and that I would be refunded to my original payment method, which was a bank transfer. I said do you need details, they said they would contact me.

      • It is so weird they tell different people different thins.

My friend showed me email received last week again they say different thing. I will ask for it and post here if i get permission.

I asked to cancel my Mwave order and I followed up this morning, and then got this email this morning. Not sure if it’s a coincidence or not!

          Dear Cohen,

Thank you for contacting Mwave requesting a cancellation on your order.

Mwave has been acquired by The digiDirect Group and will continue to operate as per normal. We will shortly be transitioning our operations to our new facility in Sydney.

We would love to keep your custom so if you are willing to keep your order active, we are committed to fulfilling all existing orders as swiftly and efficiently as possible, ensuring you maintain your position in any queues. Please note we anticipate there will be some short delays to our usual shipping patterns as we move to our new premises.

To help, we’re offering an express shipping upgrade at no added cost to you. We would also like to offer Mwave Dollars to the value of 10% of your total order amount, valid for 180 days.

If you would like to retract your cancellation request, please let us know.

          Important
Customers who have requested a cancellation and refund outside of our terms may become a creditor as a result of the administration process connected with ESEL, the former parent company of Mwave, which entered voluntary administration on Friday 13 June 2025. This means the refund becomes the responsibility of the DVT Group (administrators of ESEL).

More details regarding our business transition can be found here on the Mwave website. If you have any questions, please let us know.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding during this period. We look forward to welcoming you back again to Mwave soon.

          The Mwave Team.

@scottb721: Yeah, so to avoid me becoming a creditor, I now need to wait for the hardware to come in and there is no ETA…….. could be a while.

          probably switching providers

  • "services are currently on hold for a maximum of 2–3 business days "

"accept our sincere apologies for any confusion …… caused by our previous communication"

To suggest that I’m 'confused' is pretty insulting.

"Status - Item sent to Supplier/Vendor" - There goes any hope of even getting my half-faulty RAM back.

    • on the 16th in it was 2-3 days delay we are up to 9 days 7 working days…
