Might be a scam or possible bargain - Razer Mamba Wireless Mouse 5600DPI $33.32 SHIPPED

came across this mouse, which goes for around $150, the person has 0 feedback so it could be a scam, im not so sure, i bought one knowing I would be protected by paypal though so it could be worth the gamble.

i just ordered one too, guess we both are in the same boat.

    • Hey man. Did you end up getting it?

  • Definitely a scam. You'll come across a number of these "amazing" deals from time to time but at the end of the day, they're all fake. Paypal will protect you, but don't expect to get refunded immediately.

Yea if its a scam then a 10 day waiting period to get money back, but its just $33.32. With harvey normans tablet however…..ordering 3 of them as gifts and waiting for a refund on that….now thats a different story.

  • mmm no feedback no past sales, sounds like a scam, but as you have said PayPal will cover you. might have to grab one to.

Why do I see a likely scam and then put my head on the chopping block? Ah, well, lets see how this goes…

      lol
I feel like doing the same.

  • let me jump in the boat! even if it was $50 id still buy it, so yeah… pretty fishy

  • If this isn't a scam someone should report back. I remember finding brand new PS3s somewhere in eastern europe for $120 on eBay he had ~1000 sales but none of the sales showed sale price except for a few which were under $5 I'm assuming he made his own feedback and I'm pretty sure he got about 300-500 units sold. he definitely would be laughing about now.

  • I'd love to know whether this is a scam or not, would definitely be interested in adopting a new mouse!

    • I've ordered one, lets see how it goes. I made sure to contact Paypal beforehand to confirm whether I would be covered ( 99% of the time ).

  • More scams:

    MK808 for ~ $16.88 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-MK808-Andriod-4-1-Dual-Core-R…

Its scam because the same seller just sold 469 units of 3TB HDDS for only $26.99 each

  • 100% scam, pure and simple. Anyone selling a ridiculous quantity of new items for well below their value is guaranteed to be a scammer. It's not just 0 feedback accounts either, many of them are using hacked accounts with previous feedback (although it's fairly obvious that something is fishy when someone whose feedback is all from selling used clothes puts up a large quantity of PS3s at $50 each).

I wouldn't rely on Paypal to get you out of this mess either. Experienced scammers will have emptied their Paypal account long before a dispute is raised.

    • But when it is 0 feedback accounts, the chance of a scam is 99.9%

Its a common scam on eBay, most of the time its cheap hard drives etc.

Used to be. Now it can be almost anything.

I just reported half a dozen listings for GoPro Hero 2 Cameras.

  • A little off-topic, but thought I'd share.

Paypal's buyer protection documents say that they basically help you get your money back of a vendor, but if they can't get the money from the vendor they may (without any obligation) pay you an ex gratia payment if they feel like it (see 1.3 and 1.5 of this link:
    https://cms.paypal.com/au/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&conte…).

Over the phone just now Paypal said that they 100% guarantee that I will get my money back if the seller doesn't ship the product, regardless of whether Paypal can get the money back from the seller. I specifically asked about the terms of service, and I was told "don't worry - if you make an eligible purchase and you don't receive the item, you will get your money back whether or not we can get the money back of the seller - it doesn't matter." I said "even i the seller disappears off the face of the planet you will give my money back" and he said "yes, even if the seller has taken all their money out of the paypal account".

Half tempted to make a complaint to the ACCC because their verbal assurances are so different to what's in their terms of service…

  • Over the phone just now Paypal said that they 100% guarantee that I will get my money back if the seller doesn't ship the product

Except that the seller will ship A PRODUCT. Eg. a small coin, or a metal washer, or much more likely a slightly bulky item such as a worthless (5-10cents) piece of costume jewelery.

This will be sent AFTER you open a PayPal dispute for 'Item not Received'. You will then have to try to change the dispute to 'Item not as Described'.

To win this new dispute you will have to return the item to China by a traceable/trackable method.

You will find the cost prohibitive. Also, the only address you will have will be false/fake anyway.

Ask PayPal again. This time about - "Item Not As Described"

  • sorry to bump an old post, but i was wondering if any of you guys received the thing. looks like they posted this again, and this time 9 already sold :P
