Still one of my favourite regular whisky despite people claiming JW Blue not worth its salt/price.

    • you sir are a man of taste…

      Nah green

      • +1

Green is absolute trash..got a bottle here if you want it

        • Green used to be good before they discontinued then reintroduced it.

Black is best value for money, imo.

Got some gold recently from a deal posted here, very nice!

            @TEER3X:

            Got some gold recently

Same. It was ~$78 at Costco a few weeks ago. I thought it was great! Whilst I appreciate whisky, I don't particularly like drinking "good whisky straight" because: 1) I like volume, 2) taste wise it can be quite fast/dense. The Gold Reserve didn't help #1, but it did with #2, because I thought it had a great balance of flavors (as in none came on too strong / were overpowering), which meant that I could appreciate them all with my "lazy" palette.

So considering Johnny Walker is so "main stream", I was pleasantly surprised by it. Sure, the Gold might be considered "jack of all trades, master of none" by enthusiasts, but for a casual like me, it gave me a good experience (a well-rounded one). Thus I'm keen to try the Green some time.

      • I feel like green is overrated. Given how much people harp on about it, it's just OK. I'm pretty sure I had it pre and post change (10 years ago).

        • I have an old green, any I’ve had in the past just seems to be to harsh on the throat and not actually pleasant, the blue I know sounds swanky but was just a lot smoother

  • If you have a costco membership, you can get this for $205.

This goes hand in hand with the Peel and Win free 2L Coke 🫣

JW Double Black also on special @ $63. I used the CHEERS15 and the SCORE10 to get it for $43.55. Tied it in with a free 2L Coke from the Peel and Win. Will drink to that tonight 🥃

  • Please drink this Neat enjoy it and sip by sip and lastly do not add coke

Why so snobbish? The only thing stopping mixing is the price. Its a blended sweet smooth whisky… i.e. the typical whisky for mixes. It tastes fine neat, but there are so many better options that cost less.

I do not know the incoming or outgoing comment, but this opening scene should be included in every whisky/whiskey deal's title page automatically or by the Mods.
      What they drink

If this had a Penelope, Kilkerran, FourSquare (rum but you get the point) or GlenAllachie label on the bottle people would go ape shit over it. It's just so mass produced that people dislike it, yes for the price you can do much better (subjective though) but if you just want to score a bottle of JW Blue you just have to go down to the local LiquorLand and grab one, you don't have to stuff around with online and delivery. $201.65 C&C is a decent price for JW Blue, might grab a bottle myself for those days I want to be a little less sophisticated!

    • It's a good drop, its just horrendously overpriced.

  • 300 for 1000ml is the minimum deal.
If you are traveling to south china, the price is 200 for 1000ml blue label
