Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket (M/L/XL -Buckhorn Green) $175 Delivered @ Fast Times

350

Been looking to replace my current jacket as I want to go up a size and stumbled across this, 30% off RRP.

Yes, not as cheap as in the past, but these things have been at the new RRP of $249 for some time now and haven't come down much of late, seems like a good deal for now.

Very tempting. I’m a fan of the colour too. Nice find!

    • Granite Crest is much better imo but more expensive of course

  • as I want to go up a size

    Too much KFC?

    • Hah, not just yet. These things are a pretty boxy fit anyway, can hide a lot of gut in nice, dry comfort.

My main issue was with the M being a bit tight across the shoulders now when I layer it, and the sleeves being too short as a result.

        Tuck it in 😅

Looks like basically every other raincoat on the market?

Thanks for your amazing contribution to the thread.

        • I mean, I like the colour but can see it's not to everyone's taste.

Not really sure what other jackets are around that will perform as well at a lower price though?

        • So do you have issues with the looks or the price? I'm confused.

  • Do these layer well? It’s obviously made more for waterproof than warmth from what I can see. Just wondering if I should go up a size so can layer a sweater or something under for colder days.

Definitely not for warmth, it's just a straight hardshell. Size wise I think you can take your normal size and still later pretty well.

I was kinda between the med and LGE when I got my first one and went with the med because I liked that it wasn't as baggy around the waist. Now though I want the extra shoulder width and sleeve length of the large for layering.

I usually wear large in most t shirts etc for what that's worth.

  • Damn M size OOS!

  • Have they gotten the PFAS out of them yet? I love Patagucci stuff but for an ethical company, I wonder about some of their choices

    • +2

Answer my own question with the Goog.

PFAS free from winter 2025…. so probably, no for this one

      https://www.patagonia.com.au/pages/pfc-pfas-free

    • I'm pretty sure the torrentshell does not have PFAs any more - the description had "DWR finish that are made without intentionally added PFAS" when I bought mine in May last year

  • This is an outstanding rain jacket and a no brainer at this price for anyone looking for one.

Once you have a jacket like this and the rest of the outfit (waterproof shoes and pants), rainy conditions become like any other day.

My wife has one and I'd buy this if I didn't already have a few technical rain jackets already.

Best thing about Patagonia is that they will do free repairs to all their products even if it's just general wear and tear. They have a seamstress at their Sydney CBD shop.

    • wtf how did I only know this now, now THIS is worth the $499 on the products :D

  • All OOS :(

  • googling find $199 for other colours and size, also for woman

  • gone

  • I’ve got the North Face resolve jacket. How does this compare to that?

    • +2

Biggest difference is probably 3L fabric vs the 2L on the North Face.

  • recently bought this jacket and absolutely love it

If you guys ever visit Sri Lanka, go to the market in Nuwara Eliya. These patagonia jackets are made in Sri Lanka and you can find almost flawless factory rejects for like $20 lol

  • Can't believe I missed this deal.

  • Glad I bought a M this morning before it got Ozbargain'd. Dispatched and with AusPost before midday 😎
