same model? haven't had Puma before. i've had Asics, Saucony, Hoka and have had good luck with Asics. my Hoka is speed goat so i dont use them often. they're still good after >600km.

I got the Nitro Deviate on a great bargain at some stage, love them, had them for over a year wear them once or twice a week for a 10km run and still look great
it's important to mention whether it was the same model
All the major brands produce low quality budget models, so you can't really extrapolate that an entire brand is bad because one or some of their shoes are dodgy
even with the same model, things can change from one year to the next. got 1000k+ out of my Saucony Ride 16. got a pair of Ride 17 and i feel different.
Holes can be symptom of just the shoe is not for you. Either they are too narrow for your feet or that you need to go at least half size up. Both of which means the toes be rubbing against the upper and very quickly putting a hole in the textile.

I bought a pair of Velocity Nitro 2 from an outlet for $50.
I have no idea on the technical details you guys go on about, but these were one of the most comfy shoes I've ever worn on the daily.
Wore them every day whilst overseas and I reckon they did more for my feet than I realise.
Their Nitro foam single-handedly revived their running shoes business and for good reason. They have really good energy return and keeps its performance for very long time. Together with their Puma grip which is one of the more hard wearing and better grippy outsoles in the wet, makes the shoes so versatile and good choice for cheap. This was when Pumas were still seen as trash runners back a couple of years ago so flying under the radar and going for $50 in outlets. Still very good shoes for the prices found in the DFOs now.
Velocity Nitro models has a bit of support to them as daily runners so they perform just as well as walking shoes.
Love these shoes, nice and snappy and I would say they are good for up to 15km runs.
