CovaU Ridiculous Price Increase from July 1 for SA Based Customers (Maybe Others)

If you are with them, you would no doubt have received and been disgusted with their price increase from 4.8c per MJ (first 27 per day) to 7c per MJ (first 27 per day). Essentially a 33% increase, which seems so high, it's like they want out of the SA gas market and trying to purge all their customers.

If you are with another provider and shopping around as a result of receiving your price increase letter, stay well away from Covau if you are in SA and are attracted to the low rates you see now.

I will be waiting until just after July, shopping around and getting on the cheapest deal I can find for our usage habits.

    If the Greens ever win SA they will amend the Gas Act to ban new connections. Gas is on the way out, unless you believe the hydrogen trials will go anywhere.

    As a card carrying ozb member, shouldn't you be doing this on a regular basis anyway (including taking advantage of potential sign up bonuses when they arise)?

      I did not even 8 months ago when i switched from AGL to this mob. I always review everything.

    just finished building my house in SA, i asked my builder dont bother even doing a gas connection…gas is dead

    We have gas ducted heating. Gas stove and oven. Gas hot water. Bill last year for winter quarter $900. We are in SA too. With the big increases again this year we are now barely using the gas heating. We just put on more clothes. We are seeing like 20 per cent jumps annually now. Gas heating is great but the running cost is shocking. We don’t like reverse cycles as it makes the house very stuffy but we might have no choice in the future.

      Yeah we have ducted reverse cycle and a gas wall heater and the feeling gas heating gives is so much better. It’s like night and day.
