What a bizarre prize!
It's not that bizarre, they just don't want to pay for 2 people, it's costly.
I prefer not to travel on tours, as I find them restrictive, but I wouldn't say no to this if I won!2 people costs basically the same as 1 person on a tour/package.
@coxymla: Huh, not really, there are additional airfares, meals, accommodation rates for a 2nd person etc. Anyway this is a good fit for a single person. Not many travel comps for single people out there! It's also a clever tactic to persuade a couple into purchasing an additional package so they can go together.
