Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account Discontinued

Hi all, received email from Bankwest:

From 1 September 2025, your account will be switched to an Easy Transaction Account, as the Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account will be discontinued.

Information about your Qantas Points
When your account changes to an Easy Transaction Account, you will no longer be eligible to accrue Qantas Points.

Your current Qantas Point balance will not be affected by this change and the Bankwest Qantas Rewards Program Terms and Conditions will continue to apply until your account is changed over.

Are there other debit card alternatives that earn points? Currently have HSBC debit.

  I believe this was communicated a few weeks ago. There are a few other alternatives, like Qudos or AMP.

  AMP are the prefered partner now, but they award points at a much slower rate than Bankwest did

  Lets be honest Bankwest was never a great card to hold for Qantas points though.

    For small ($1-2) dollar transactions it isn't too bad from a pt/dollar earn rate.

    I got a woolies near work and if i want something like a bottle of water, choc bar, chips etc, i just chuck it on this card.

      Yeah

      Just I guess ozbargainers don’t really care for points/$1 it’s all about the bonus points, something that Bankwest struggles to offer

  I moved to AMP to collect Qantas points. They have an ongoing scheme for Bonus points for a limited time.
