I haven't seen any like this for a while unless I'm not looking hard enough for popular sites.
Group buys for PC parts would be unreal!

Imo, as inflation rises at a significant rate, there's no real profit to be made to businesses.
I have mates that bulk buy from Alibaba and even their profit margin is thin.
Crazy
You mean as a merchant, reselling other people's work. There is plenty of money being made in business, but the global platforms are squeezing out merchant resellers who don't do much to add value.
I used to browse massdrop all the time. the current iteration of the site is of no interest to me though
My guess is that Aliexpress has rendered the group buy model redundant
They may have shifted for doing 'groups' instead of buying!
The story of Mass Drop started the journey of enshittification when they rebranded to "Drop" by losing focus on what true group buys meant to focusing on growth all cost by inviting companies to use it more as marketing rather than true exclusives or discounts.
Then when Corsair bought them out that was the final evolution of just 'shit' rather than enshittified. A company focusing on selling their branded products isn't going to promote discounts on their competitor products, it's conflict of interest.
Drop.com is a blast from the past for me.
The same mechanical keyboards and keycaps for the last 5 years.
You can drop ship most stuff one item at a time now, so there isn't the savings a bulk buy used to bring.
