A reminder that these are easily refillable with a dollop of regular liquid handwash soap and fill the rest with water. Shake thoroughly to mix and BABY, YOU GOT A STEW GOING!

    • Do you find eventually the soap and liquid separate? I like the foaming but feel it's a rip off since it appears to be mostly water

I use the refill bottles from Aldi. No separation so far but there's enough usage to refill every week.

Do you find eventually the soap and liquid separate?

I once had a similar problem. I had been using a diluted cloudy soft soap (ALDI aloe & chamomile), and tried topping up with some diluted clear soft soap. The next day, all of the cloudiness had pooled in the bottom 5mm of the bottle! I didn't try to use it, I tipped it out, cleaned the bottle, and started again.

P.S. someone else on OzBargain advised not to use diluted cloudy soap, as it eventually clogs the dispenser. I found it to be true, I was getting lower and lower volumes of foam. Thanks, whoever you were, I've only used clear soap since then, in a new dispenser, and not had problems since.

    • Shake thoroughly to mix

I make up a mix of 3 parts water to 1 part soft soap, with the water coming from the hot tap. A little bit of gentle stirring is all that is needed to mix when hot water is used. Then I pour it into the dispenser.

For anyone trying diluted soft soap for the first time, there is a small difference between the "performance" of diluted soft soap and foaming soap refills. Foaming soap refills have boosted quantity of glycerin, which slows the foam from drying out.

As diluted soft soap has less glycerine, the foam's "bubbles" will pop, and overnight you'll see the foam retreats up into the dispenser's nozzle. If you use the dispenser every day, this doesn't cause any problems. But if you're only rarely using the foam dispenser, it's possible the drying foam could deposit inside the nozzle, and eventually cause a blockage.
