Blocking Ads Appearing on Applications

Is it possible to block adds running on android applications while running?

I'm running many trial applications that keep playing 30 second ads when in use, I thought an ad blocker would do the trick but only serves its use in Safari, some applications even force you to pay money to remove the ads, while some don't.

For things like mobile games, use a private dns. A dns that will block your ads is dns.adguard.com. (This will also block sponsored results on chrome.) Now to remove ads for things like streaming services i use the brave browser. The brave browser has a built in adblocker, so I open the streaming services on their website and save the website as a application on my phone and watch my shows like that.

      This

Edit your private DNS to dns.adguard.com, alot of tutorials online how to do it.

But I never had an in-app ad, it may be blank but it's never intrusive as in I have to force close it.

I've used NextDNS for fine grained ad/tracker blocking across my devices- they have a free tier

    • Thanks. Gave this a try. Am I crazy or does it also bypass the smh and age firewalls?

  • Adgaurd stops those annoying random popup ads but nothing will remove banner ads (well the ads wont show but a white banner will remain)

  • blockada
    adguard dns

  • airplane mode before you open app.

  • I'm using some Chinese movie apps which play ada every episode which can be annoying and some free game keep popping up ads, hope it works cheers.

    • Yea id open the app on the website on the brave browser, and then save it as a application

    • sorry I thought you meant those google ad banners in free versions of many apps.

didn't know you were streaming a movie. 🙇‍♀️

  • I use Pi Hole on my wifi and it blocks a lot of them. Those it doesn’t block, I go looking for the ad URL it tries to access and then I block that as well, and boom, ads are gone.

Sometimes I forget that a lot of these apps even have ads in them and I get a little shocked when I open them away from wifi at home. Boom! In your face ads make some of these app unusable.

"I'm running many trial applications that keep playing 30 second ads when in use"

There is an Ad blocker called "Pay for it".

That used to work, but has largely been replaced by "Keep paying every month".
