Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 - $269 C&C / in-Store @ JB Hi-Fi

110

Was in the market for a decent wheel stand and found this for quite a bit cheaper than anywhere else. Unsure when the deal ends.

Ask for a deal. Not much, but they got it down to $266. I used a JB gift card too from my BUPA rewards @ 4.5% off bringing it down to roughly $254.

Check what rewards deals you are entitled to for further discounts.

Not a single thing you said is true. 😅

Or someone trying to justify having bought this at the inflated price

So, did you click the link? Where does it say market place? Notice how it says that its available for pickup in certain stores?
Try to think before you post…. It really isnt that hard

      "Not a deal"

It is from what I can see.

      "Sold from marketplace, not JBhifi"

      No, it's sold by jbhifi.

"Can find exactly the same on ebay etc for substantially cheaper."

I can't seem to find any for cheaper.
Seems you've convinced yourself that the LITE model is the same as this one, which its not.

Wow, expensive how are these better than the prior version that why for 169 - eg
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/153570

Or better yet, something generic for like 60 odd bux?

This is probably one of the sturdiest wheel mounts you can buy that you can fold away for storage when not in use, no issues with using a fanatec dd wheel with this.

And is modular so you can add the seat attachment down the track if you get more space.

This can regularly be picked up on second hand market for under $100 if your not in a rush.

I got mine for $60 from gumtree.

Not sure if I'll pay 269 for one though.

On gumtree for $269 you'd get a stand with a shifter and wheel attached.

      • Agreed! It takes all the abuse from my spirited driving on dirt rally :D

Solid and foldable for space conscious users like myself.

    • $60 'even' ;-)

Good point, my main point was what makes these so special… Seems there are cheaper versions. R33tom answered it well.

        • +1

There are probably cheaper stuff available but NLR are the standard for entry level (branded) sim racing stuff.

Except those foldable cockpits… don't buy them… they are just rubbish.

    Also from next level racing
Also for stand alone this looks similar for only $115 with $20 coupon

Whole setup is definitely better than a wheel stand however gtlite isn't great for anything more than a basic wheel. Can't handle a load cell or direct drive wheel base.

      • This is true.
But from my experience just from a g923 is that these things move your stand as well so..
Not sure how great this will be without the seat unit attached.
Without moving up too many price points and extra $200 gets you a decent all in one setup.
        https://ebay.us/m/g2Fk0E

        Found it even cheaper https://ebay.us/m/OhcSje
But if it's just the stand I'd probably save money and get one from eBay for half the price. With similar build quality.

Those camping chair things are absolute dogsh*t - either spend more money and get a proper cockpit (especially if you're going for a direct drive setup) or just get a used wheelstand like this on marketplace IMO.

      • I agree, it was just reference point for pricing that you can get a whole cockpit for the price of a stand.
The stand might be useful as a space saver but it doesn't come without it's annoyances. From my experience they move making it not ideal. The cockpit is better but caveat is that it requires more space.
In all honesty @ 269 it's still very overpriced for what it is. And as linked similar designs are half the price for similar construction and build.

        • Yeah agreed - it's a shame how quickly the sim gear adds up in price for something half decent!

Definitely a good price for the NLR stand, but I got this one off Amazon end of last year when I got my first sim race setup and it's great, heavier and more sturdy than I had anticipated even after reading all the good reviews:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Steering-Simulator-Cockpit-Logitec…

Seller was also absolutely fantastic, responsive to all my questions both pre/post sale. I recently asked if they had the extra section to hold down the office chair like with the NLR stand and they do sell it as add-on for $40 but offered it for 50% off (by refunding the $20 upon receipt of the item) but in the end they just decided to refund me the full amount and gifted it to me for free.

If you want a great wheel stand I recommend the trakracer one for the same price. It's rock solid. It can handle up to load cells and direct drive. You do however have the issue of the chair moving when you brake but that's an issue with any wheel stand to work out. https://trakracer.com.au/products/fs3-steering-wheel-stand-s…

    • +1

Damn that's nice for the price!

    • If you use a computer chair and lock the wheels in the channel i never had issues with my load cell and the NLR wheelstand moving, i'd imagine this would be similar

  • I bought these second hand previously for less than $40

Was just out for a ride and grabbed a hard rubbish Logitech wheel / pedals / shifter.
      Heavier than I expected.
      It has begun!

      • Does it work?

You remind me when i was out for a ride 3 years ago in a rich suburb and found a as new condition xbox S 1TB on the road full working order. And last year picked up a faulty 65" Hisense TV that they swapped it under warranty for a 2024 model

        • Yep, all good.

Just need to source/ make a stand.

Need to hit up Qantas for an old business class/ emergency isle seat. Would be perfect as a lounge chair with a side foldaway tray table for the wheel.

P.S. So many Dysons thrown out. Got one for everyone in my family. Going to start donating them to local salvos. Most are just clogged. Some need the BMS flash from GitHub. Never picked up an actual dead one yet.

  • I currently run a Moza R12 off one of these and it's perfectly fine at max torque. The only issue I have is the gear shift arm isn't that sturdy. It's fine for the logitech and TH8A shifter, but the stiffer moza and ebay generic shifter are a problem.

  • What's the best way to get into sim racing, is Asseto Corsa on PC still the best middle ground for sim racing? Or is there a way to get away with just a console?

    • +2

I got into it properly end of last year with an 8nm Fanatec CSL DD + Elite v2 pedals setup and been playing pretty much exclusively OG Assetto Corsa and it’s been a great time. Besides the fact that the game’s stupidly cheap now there are so many car/map/graphical mods out there to make the game look good and fun to play. Have since modified the pedals with an haptic reactor on the brake and hydraulic mod on the throttle and recently caved and purchased the Formula v2.5 (with the Simube advanced paddle module) and it’s just been awesome. Tried playing with the Q3 headset in VR and it’s crazy.

      • Really appreciate the response, thanks. Do you run it on a PC?

        • Yea mate on the PC. I think when it’s time to build a new PC I might keep the old parts and build an actual sim rig so I’m not having to play at the desk with the wheel stand…bit of PITA to having to move the wheel stand all the time (actually quite heavy with everything mounted haha).

If you want a good consistent racing experience in 2025 get into Le Mans Ultimate. So good. Consistent and regular races and decent community. Otherwise Assetto Corsa (with all the good mods
And content manager), Assetto Corsa Competitizone are great in leagues with other local players. Automobilista 2 is also great if you want a large variety of cars and tracks. Le mans ultimate has the best net code of all though, you can race anyone around the world and it's very smooth. In othe games you'd get a lot of teleporting. There's also iRacing but that's crazy expensive once you have a variety of cars and tracks.

  • Saw someone has a small bookcase/ bedside draw.

Pulls center divider out and put pedals on the bottom, wheel mounts/ shifter up top.

When finished. Divider goes back in. Remove wheel and sits on divider inside. Moves it to the side.
