Prime Day - GPU Sales?

Hey OzB Fam,

Do you think Prime Day will have good discounts on 9070 XT or 5070ti/5080? Why or why not?

I am so overdue an upgrade, at this rate I am just going to pull the trigger on something regardless of a sale (take my licence, I don't deserve it).

This is part of Amazon Prime Day sales for 2025

Not sure, but I'm hoping they have good sales on crystal balls.

Just make sure it has 16GB.

    GPU Sales?

    Geriatric Perforated Underwear ?

    • lol. Perforated Underwear. Now that would be useless.

      • -3

        that would be useless.

        That's why I questioned it… Seems bizarre…

        • They already exist.

Perforated doesn’t just mean to help something rip, it’s literally just a series of holes. In this case, making it more breathable.

You can scroll through the list of 2024 Prime Deals posted on Ozbargain, I think you will be dissapointed to see pretty much no deals on PC parts.

Case fans and thermalright coolers maybe. Core components like CPU's, GPU's, RAM and storage nope.

AI demand is through the roof right now so Nvidia GPU pricing will remain high as the demand for raw silicon wafers is at it's peak, and NAND / DRAM will also be high since datacenters need all that fast storage for LLM datasets.

I would just bite the bullet and buy at the current EOFY sale if you are itching for the upgrade. You might lose your Ozbargain license if you buy a 8GB VRAM GPU though.

    • Thanks for the detailed reply! I agree with you, looks like pulling the trigger is the right call here. The 9070XT is in my sights so luckily no 8GB VRAM variants.

  • Amazon isn't really known for gpu deals. Might get lucky though.

      Might get lucky though.

Aha no. It's cheaper for GPU companies to sell to data centers. They have no interest in making chips for consumers. You won't get sales

I'm gonna wait 5-7 years, hopefully TSMC/Samsung/Intel will create some new semiconductor fabs.

yea nah. but you'll probably find really cheap land fill.

  • Meanwhile, I am waiting for Garmin Fenix 8 hoping Amazon will pull 50% off.
