Why does the dates say 2-8 ?
2nd July to 8th July
@life is suffering: I've removed some of the negs for you. But perhaps avoid the "first" or "2nd" type comments?
Others negged your comments, you had 1 neg each against two of them. I gave those 2 comments a + to remove those single negs.
You need some ice cream. Can I recommend a 1L Connesseur?
Ok

Anybody who thinks this is a premium ice cream should compare the ingredients with something like Haagen-Dazs that doesn't have all the emulsifiers and other weird ingredients

I prefer Haagen myself :) connossieur cookies and cream ain’t so bad tho
I'm a heathen. Much prefer the additive blend,, but that could be because every time I've tried Haagen it's been rock solid… not how I like my ice cream.
Huh! It’s always been creamy for me - now Ben and Jerry’s on the other hand… delicious but also a brick
@Mingenibbler: I will continue to squeeze Haagen in the hope of finding something not imbued with the density of Osmium.
It's going to need to be pretty special to be better than Connoisseur's salted caramel.
At almost double the price wouldn't you expect it to be better?
Personally I'd prefer the Connoisseur, because the smoother texture and lower quantity of saturated fat are more important to me than the tiny amounts of emulsifier and vegetable gums (which really aren't that bad for you).
And everything else in the Connoisseur is basically equivalent to the Haagen-Dazs.
Saturated fats vs 1 cup of sugar?! It ain't the fat!
True Haagen Dazs is the real deal but is over priced to the core. Only if corporations weren't greedy as much (profanity) we would get to eat tasty and healthy food.
Cream and milk are a lot more expensive than cheap fillers. They also want some profit. It's not really greed, we all work for money in the end of the day, including Haagen and Daz. When you start making real food, it gets surprisingly expensive.
Milk ain't that expensive common. Haagen Dazs would get milk and cream for a lot cheaper compared to you or me as they would be purchasing in commercial quantities and have long standing agreement with milk suppliers to get milk at a fixed price. Making Ice cream is no rocket science and is done by machines. How much do you reckon it would cost Haagen Daz to make 1L of Ice cream? Yes I know the other bits Packaging cost, transport etcc but we will come to it later
Golden North which wins a lot of awards has a fair few: Ingredients: Fresh Milk, Fresh Cream (Milk), Liquid Sugar (Sugar, Water), Milk Solids, Emulsifier (471), Gelatin, Vegetable Gums (401, 339, 466), Salt, Vanilla Flavour, Flavour (Milk).
I tried both but Connoisseur tastes better for me
Haagen-Dazs Macha ice cream is so delicious but they don't sell it anymore :(
Does anyone really pay $12 for this - nuts
Give it a couple of months and people will soon be paying $14 for this.
When my grandpa was a lad, sixpence would get you a whole cart of hand-churned vanilla ice cream. And the ice cream monger would like you keep the donkey pulling the cart.
Not only that but I can bet that it was 10 timws betrer than any premium brand available now.
It was made with 160% fresh dairy cream from prize winning heifers fed only on lush grasslands and milked by hand by buxom maidens.
I remember once upon a time it was $7 full price.
I remember when Streets Paddle Pops were 4 cents each.
Did you use to tie an onion to your belt?
Yes, but only the big yellow ones. I couldn't get any white ones because of the war …..
I time travelled back to December 2016 and saw that the cheapest it was at that time was $4.84 half price: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/283066
Not bad that it's only increased by $2.32 (at full price) or $1.16 at half price in ~9 years.
well it was over priced to begin with even in 2016. No not much of a surprise that it has increased only little as the profit margin has been humongous at the get go.
What’s a fair price?
Bring back peanut butter please
This.
If I want adult diabetes, I want it from something good.
Also King Louis XIV. That flavour was amazing.
Has the recipe changed? Had the Murray River salted caramel recently and it didn't taste nearly as good as it used too
I think the quality of the water from the river isn’t quite as good nowadays
Yes, 100%. They have changed their recipe and the quality has gone down drastically. The only flavour which has any resemblance to the old recipe is Vanilla, which still isn't very good
'Keen to check out the new flavours'. The connoisseur website only has 1 flavour as new - Roasted Hazelnut & Chocolate. Is WW just playing catch up?
cookies n cream / honey macadamia or just vanilla.. shut up and take my money
hows strawberry/hazelnut 1L?
cookies n cream was goodI tried Hazelnut, not good. Previously, it had pieces of Hazelnut and the taste was quite good, not anymore and the quality has gone down.
OMG really? are u talking about the 1Litre Hazelnut? yes it had pieces of Hazelnut earlier I had.
how about strawberry?
Do prices change on tuesday or wednesday?
