Ah shame about the V neck

      I know right

There's a reason it exists, some of us prefer it 😁

I like V neck over crew neck

I reckon it's better if you're wearing a collar. And a gentleman always wears a collar.

    Got one, cheers

  • Is there any 'fur' for this? I used to purchase one and it's very fluffy and causing asthma

The V neck lets out lots of body heat.
Plus who wears them out in public or work or school….

Lots of us in banking and finance will wear this over the round neck due to the tie. It's very common in this industry.

great for hiking - cheap merino layer

is it still very thin or have they improved the quality ?

    • +2

I bought the crew neck version recently and its still thin, you probably want to wear more layers with this

      It's Uniqlo and $30….

I heard a lot of the cheaper merino wool clothes fall apart / get holes very quickly, anyone know if the same happens for these?

    • I've owned about 8 of the crew necks in the past 4 years and 2 have gotten serious holes/rips in them. One is in elbow and one at back of neck. I've patched the elbow one with an iron on patch and the neck one sits in my golf bag for an emergency layer.

I still buy them. Simple and cost effective, I wear them for work year round and have under jackets or as a top layer. I rate them……they don't tear easy if you look after them. They're definitely not heavy duty. Also because they're merino, they don't get washed too often unless I spill something on the front.

  • I bought one in a size smaller than my usual to use as a semi-permanent base layer. Works very well in Melbourne winters and has held up for a few years. Doesnt itch or smell.
