Have anyone tried to use the Aussie explorer at petrol station that is not listed on the retailer list? Is this card similar to 7eleven prepaid visa?
Can confirm it works fine, I've used it at plenty of random country fuel stations.
Great thanks
Special does not restrict the redemption of Aussie Explorer gift cards (and other Special category gift cards, e.g. Supermarket Slayer, Tech Head) to the brands specifically listed under the Featured Retailers section on their website, but it restricts the Aussie Explorer gift cards to transactions using an unknown number of MCCs. The fact that Shell, BP and 7-Eleven are listed as Featured Retailers strongly suggests that merchants using MCC 5541 - Service Stations (with or without Ancillary Services) - are permitted on the Aussie Explorer gift card.1 I have previously used Aussie Explorer gift cards at Reddy Express, Ampol Foodary and EG Ampol (and those are not explicitly named on the Special website).
Having said that, just like the 7-Eleven digital gift cards, there will be some edge cases where the Aussie Explorer gift card will not work the next time you go to a service station. For example:
If you attempt to pay for fuel at an automated fuel dispenser (e.g. Costco, U-GO Self Serve, unattended Ampol service stations, unattended United service stations), it is likely the Aussie Explorer gift card will decline the transaction, because automated fuel dispensers are supposed to use a different MCC (5542). It is extremely unusual for a prepaid gift card to allow transactions at automated fuel dispensers, due to the fact that prepaid gift cards have no cardholder, plus there are usually no staff members from the merchant around to handle transactions and monitor for any potentially fraudulent use of cards.
If you attempt to pay for fuel via an app (e.g. BPme app, EG Club app, FuelPay on the Ampol app), it will depend on whether the app uses MCC 5541 and will allow payments from prepaid Mastercard gift cards. I have not come across such an app that rejects prepaid Mastercard gift cards, but the last time I tried to link a prepaid gift card to my BPme app, the MCC was 5552 (Electric Vehicle Charging), and I have no idea if that is permitted on Aussie Explorer gift card.
On the other hand, Special Brand gift cards (e.g. Woolworths Special, Country Road Special, JB Hi-Fi Special) are restricted to the brands on the gift card. ↩

Hi can I use my CitiBank card through Apple Pay when paying online to get the cash back? The terms mention PayPal, etc. so wanted to see if anyone has done it
Yes. Apple (or Google) pay is not a third party payment. . It is a mediator or digital wallet that stores private data and allows the user to pay through a third-party processing system
Was good whilst it lasted. Looks Citi My Rewards is being discontinued on 1 October
Thanks. I never get email from citi but found this under offers.
