Do Not Let Your Power Bank Get Confiscated in China - Get CCC

China just enforced the requirement as of 28 June 2025 that all powerbanks carried onto domestic flights must be CCC certified. If yours only has CE then it will get confiscated. See article below:

It’s been mentioned a few times on Ozbargain deals and a lot on Reddit, but not in this forum yet. So just a heads up. Also as per article, some international travellers have also been caught. So best to play it safe and leave your non CCC powerbank at home.

If not from Temu, it’s not safe?

      LOL….

  • They won't even let you use them on international flights.

  • Whats example of ce and ccc powerbank?

The irony of chinese powerbanks not being allowed on chinese flights.

given that a faulty powerbank burnt down a plane in the past year, i would be happy for all powerbanks to be banned.

Only some years ago Samsung phones were burning. Where would it end?

      • +2

        EV's?

        • +1

That's why I never bring my Tesla on my flights. Not worth the risk.

        • +1

They burn down whole ships instead.

With that logic, any 1 mishap in the world would be banning everything. Nothing would exist.

NGL I get nervous about it too these days given the increased numbers that get brought on board. But I think the CCC certification will go a long way to reduce the risk. It requires a 3rd party lab test of the products, and an annual inspection of the factory. CE was largely a self declaration by the manufacturer themselves, with no factory inspections and no 3rd party lab tests mandated AT ALL.

I'd just print the logo on a decal and paste it on. It's what they'd do anyway and sell us trash.

Interesting. Just checked my Samsung power bank I got with the s24. Not CCC only CE.

im going overseas next year, I'll avoid china if I can lol, just cause I'm more loyal to my power bank lol

  • After that Korean plane fire you have to carry powerbanks on your person, not in your luggage.

    Whats about CCP Power Banks?

      They board first

Please don't become 2year old Chery

  • What if the CE mark it has is the China Export mark that looks almost identical to the Euro CE mark?

  • Maybe they should work on making USB ports work properly on the plane then, 4 flights last week with Cathay Pacific and the USB port worked kind of once.

    • never use usb ports in public, you just dont know what is connected on the otherside of the port also they could also have screwed the ports up and cause your device to short circuit and cause damage, i always use a powerplug

Oh now China cares about certifications…

  • +1

but half the powerbanks come fropm there… they know themselves they have sh17 products they manufactor but dont want it returning back in… yeah nice work china

Don't worry, Chinese factories will start sticking a CCC sticker/print on everything that goes out now, so in a few months you'll be able to take your fully "certified" Temu power bank on the plane.

  • One family member is going to Japan in September via China Eastern, and will do a layover transit in Shanghai. Would an Anker powerbank manufactured in CN, purchased in Amazon AU without CCC cert, give any problem?

    • As far as I understand, it's currently banned for domestic flights only. But don't quote me on that.

  • Anyone know of powerbank with CCC that you can buy in Australia? Cheers
