Pretty good price, the will likely be similar deals for Prime day as well. Read reviews before buying, mixed feedback on the mounting bracket etc.

edit Before anyone asks, the leds in this are not user replaceable. Hue products do generally last a while, but i have have had a roughly 7% failure rate after 5 years. With some globes failing after only 2 years.

  • Bulb Base E26

    I don’t think that’s right?

    • +2

Yeah, errors in description, not "floor mount", not "spot light" either, it is a flood.

  • +1

Does it matter than it’s UK stock?

    • Electrically doesn’t look like it matters (accepts 240)
      Compliance wise: maybe?

  • Assume these are hard wired not battery operated?

    • +4

Notes 240 Volt in the description so I would say your assumption is correct.

      • Yep I saw that - rules it out for me as cost of an electrician on top

These are different to the hue white and colour ambience floodlight sold locally. This one doesn't do colour (who needs that on a floodlight anyway) and is 21w vs 15w. The local version often sells for sub $200 on amazon.

I wonder what refund you get if you return 1

  • Presumably in the Hue app you can map motion sensors to turn on different combos of outdoor lights eg. one sensor turns on all lights, another sensor just a single light?

Would want to run this automation in Home Assistant with the zigbee hub preferably. Do these lamps add to a zigbee mesh?

    • Do these lamps add to a zigbee mesh?

They should do. I'm pretty sure anything that's not battery powered does. Lights, plugs, wired sensors, etc.

      • Yes with regular wired zigbee…so presumably Hue gear.

We have a three storey outdoor staircase with separate sensor lights each floor. Be good to have them talking to each other.

If they could, what would they talk about?

        • +1

Yeah, I've got a bunch of hue downlights and they work like any other ZigBee repeater with home assistant.

I just tested this for you, yes you can, no problems at all, whole "rooms" or individual lights, not a problem. Worked on my set up just now.

    No sensor?

      • I have these, they work well, batteries last ages, flexible mounting locations because they're not hard wired.

        • +1

I had one of these mounted in direct sunlight. The plastic front cover did not hold up to the UV damage and cracked when replacing the batteries.

  • I have a hard wired white & colour and find it to be not very bright. Considering replacing it with a normal floodlight.

    • This one is 25% brighter @ 21w vs colour version @15w.

      • Ahh good to know thanks.

  • Good deal, just purchased 2. I have more than 20 Hue lights in our house, including 6 colour Floodlights (Discover). These 2 white ones will be perfect for a particular area in the backyard, specicially as they are 21W rather than 15W. Thanks OP

  • I don't need colour. Any good option?

    • these ones

  • No idea how to get it for $367, shows $408

    • Price went up a few days after posted sadly
