Recommendation for a Digital Camera for under $300

Just wondering what camera you can buy under $300 these days.

I know your phone is much better. Surely they make decent digital camera now in $300 price range

Btw, phone cannot be better than digital camera!

    • Thanks really helpful.

Isn't this a correct statement? Curious to know as then iPhone won in their clever marketing as better camera was reason to upgrade phone each year :)

If you’re really interested in photography, I’d spend that money on a second hand dlsr and different lenses

    • Need compact size

  • saw this. looks cool if you can find it for cheaper (maybe closer to $300 from eBay with code?).

    • Thanks. Yeah it looks cool but doesn't look like it delivers

      • you mean the bad review?

that's if you use it as a webcam. I just assumed you wanted to use it as a camera?

If you want a compact interchangeable (not point and shoot) lens camera, I'd try finding something like a used Fuji X-T2 or an older Panasonic mirrorless camera. But that's more like $400/300 AUD just for the camera alone. Otherwise I've found much older used DSLRs for as little as $100 on eBay like the Nikon D70 or D80.
