Is This a Scam/'unbelievable' Job Offer?

Check out this job offer, currently advertised on 'Seek':

I don't think there is any Australian 'photographer' that could afford to hire a live-in PA on this rate, with the perks described.

Maybe I am wrong though, can anyone enlighten me?

I suspect this may be some sort of weird scam/ID theft racket/something else seedy …

What do you guys reckon?

It could be fake, but it costs money to run ads on Seek and I doubt a pro personal assistant is going to buy into a pyramid scheme when they show up and the job isn't what they think it is. If you get this job there's a good chance you'll be working and travelling with this guy I reckon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Lik

Seems he enjoys the reputation of being extremely wealthy, so 120k a year plus your expenses would be nothing to him https://old.reddit.com/r/photography/comments/9k9qz4/which_c…

    • applicant will end up being the 'centre of attention' on OF

If he's that rich, and the job is so dreamy, he wouldn't be whacking an ad on Seek, period.
Rich ppl have hangers on everywhere, with long lings of sub hangers on, who would put the feelers out. Or one of his crew would just google a PA via model portfolios.Or hang around trendy gyms in Byron

      • Perhaps he didn't create the job, but an employee might have, or an employee might have contracted the finding of candidates and that contractor put the ad out on their behalf. Something tells me Peter's time is better spent photographing and in sales.

        • All work & no play…

          Anyway. Lucky him.I'm all envy.

"Exclusive Access: Invitations to high-end events, private tastings, and networking opportunities within elite circles." Who cares? People who go to high end events and networking stuff, probably don't care about the lowly photographer grunt. So how is this even listed as a benefit?

Peter Lik is a controversial photographer, known as much for his self-promotion as for his work.
He is well known for claiming he sold a single photograph for $6.5 million, although some people claim it was a PR stunt, as the sale price has not been verified.

Based on the wording of this job ad, it sounds like he's looking for an attractive young woman to accompany him everywhere.

    Key words: "Vivacious", "effervescent",

    "Friendly", "Adaptable"

"Eagerness to explore new cultures and cuisines", "Travel Perks: First-class or equivalent travel arrangements and luxury accommodations."

i.e. we will be dining together and traveling together.

"Key Responsibilities:Facilitate fitness activities (hiking, gym, swimming), source health-food options."
"Passion for an active, health-focused lifestyle (hiking, gym, swimming, nutritious dining)"

i.e. you are a fit, health-conscious, beautiful instagram influencer.

    • , known as much for his self-promotion as for his work.

Yeah there's something just a little off about him IMO. I've visited a few of his galleries and always been pretty impressed - on the cusp of "Let's do this" impressed - but there's always been a little voice holding me back because something about him feels not quite authentic. I don't know if it's embedded in the art itself, or his galleries' locations and sales people, or what - but I just never feel fully comfortable with him. (Anyway, that's me, he might be a great guy offering a great job for all I know. Edit: just read up on him a bit, seems pretty shady to me.)

How to say 'no ugly girls' without saying it.

      • You're not allowed to apply then, eh?

        • I'm a good looking MAGA furry.

          • @Protractor: I did try to work furry into it, but my brain just wouldn't think of how. Lol

            • @Muppet Detector: But it's Sunday morning. Every real Strayan has a furry tongue, right now.

              • @Protractor: Isn't that the hair of the dog?

If it's Sunday morning, why aren't they in church getting wine and crackers?

Of it doesn’t work out you can scam the scammer and post about it

  • What do you guys reckon?

$97USD is about $150k AUD, but job then goes on to say max $120k AUD for the right skills.

Basically reads they want you 24/7 to take photos for them as they drag you around with them.

I'm guessing its going to be a shit job that is paying crap as they take you too all these places and they'll expect you to pay for a crapload of stuff and have $80k worth of cameras as part of your equipment.
