Once u play the game, they will scan everything within ur computer including address personal information and even bank details

Wow this misinformation has become so spread that it is now being repeated as a guarantee lmao

      • -7

Can you prove its misinformation though?

        • +3

You'd rather believe one random person on the internet with no source of info?

        • +3

I'll go with: the lack of any proof this has occured, and a bonus, people misrepresenting the wording in a generic EULA change. But if you find proof otherwise, please share with the class

          • -8

@DiscountForThee: You were the one that said it was misinformation so its you that needs to provide proof sunny jim not I.

            • +6

              @kungfuman:

you that needs to provide proof

How do you prove someone hasn't happened? Do you also want proof that it doesn't make you allergic to garlic??

              • -6

@DiscountForThee: well if you don't know then how can you label something misinformation. use the word when you know more.

                • +5

@kungfuman: You got me, I have no proof about any link to garlic allergies and playing BL3

        • Doesn't matter if it's true. I assume the worst will happen and have a separate device just for banking etc.

Game EULAs have always contained ridiculous stuff, but they just get smacked down by the courts.

Check the information they collect in their terms and conditions

Here is the original paragraph in the link:

The type of information we collect depends on how you use the Services. Generally, we collect the following information:

Identifiers / Contact Information: Name, user name, gamertag, postal and email address, phone number, unique IDs, mobile device ID, platform ID, gaming service ID, advertising ID (IDFA, Android ID) and IP address

          Protected Characteristics: Age and gender

Commercial Information: Purchase and usage history and preferences, including gameplay information

Billing Information: Payment information (credit / debit card information) and shipping address

@twdjlzl: Okay now go ahead and share some proof that "they will scan everything within ur computer including address personal information and even bank details"

This is wildly different from anything you've shared above

            • -5

@DiscountForThee: Ok I admit I was exaggerate about scanning everything within the computer, but personal information, payment detail and IP address is still a lot. Even I trust Take Two does not sell the data, but if there is any data breach in the future, things will get interesting.

              • +1

                @twdjlzl:

                payment detail

If you are trying to buy something, such as DLC or a game from T2, they'd need to receive your payment details. Nowhere does it say they're storing your credit card numbers in plaintext.

                IP address

If they host online services, and you are connecting to them, not sure how you expect to utilise the online services without "sharing" your IP address with them.

Every service that you use will need, in some form, the information that is listed in the EULA.

                • @DiscountForThee: Well one of the reason why player's are mad is because they changed the terms and conditions 1 month before the Borderlands2 give away. Plus game with no in game purchase can use steam or other platform to pay without save the payment info. Plus in their statement they admitted:

'In the last 12 months, Take-Two has sold and/or shared unique identifiers, IP address, as well as Internet/Electronic Activity and Profile Inferences with third-party advertising providers to enable us to provide personalized advertising to you and others like you.'

At least for myself this is a bit suspicious.

Id say dont buy it or play it because the villains and their cotent creator storyline will make your skin crawl. Couldnt even finish this one. Finished BL2 many times.

      • i finished BL2 on the vita with no internet connection.

Don't worry OzBargainers all you have to do is paste this into the comment section and you become immune

I HEREBY DECLARE THAT I DO NOT GIVE MY PERMISSION FOR FACEBOOK BORDERLANDS 3 OR META GEARBOX TO USE ANY OF MY PERSONAL DATA. DO NOT USE ANY OF MY PERSONAL DATA.

Companies hate this one simple trick!

  • +3

With the amount of money I have given to other companies for my information to be stolen, $4.49 is damn cheap!
    Thanks OP!

Do we really have to put up with cookers here too?? FFS

I loved this game - great value at this prive.

Some dude gave me a hacked gun that just blows everything away. I only got it after completing the game so it wasn't ruined - was fun in multiplayer.

  • Another one that has been given away free in the past and might already be in your Epic Library.

  • I've grown to like Borderlands 3 over the last few years. I hated the game on release, but it's a lot better with the DLCs

Take2's recent updates to the privacy policy and TOS make it hard to recommend tho. If you're gonna play it, just go grab it for free. You can play multiplayer just fine

  • Take 2 without permission uploaded a copy of the widely panned Borderlands movie to my computer while I was playing Borderlands 3 on steam. The next time I booted my PC up, I was forced to sit through that p.o.s. of a movie and I couldn't click out of it or alt tab or anything. I unplugged my PC and that p.o.s. continued playing. Cate Blanchett ruined my life.
