I replaced a Dyson V6 battery with Makita adapter and works well, using it in the garage. I also purchased a Dyson V8, 2 weeks ago from Amazon and its far superior to the V6 in suction and power. So if your budget allows then yes a V8 is worthwhile.
I've got a v11 now and have noticed this year my dc58 not lasting long at all. I use it sparingly for spot vac laundry/rumpus/library/study/spare bathroom so potentially don't need entire new device. The adapter is only $25!
Yes, if you already have a V11 then definitely worth getting the adapter then for DC58, I tried after market battery for the V6 and only lasted 6-8 months before failing.

This or replace my v6 battery on a DC58? What's people's experience with 3rd party batteries? I also see you can get an adapter to use Ryobi and other power tool batteries…
