EARLYBIRD: Getting the error when checking out, "only available for new users"

    • Just found out the same thing !

Given the Doordash prices are higher I'm not sure this is really a bargain for anyone who can physically get into an Aldi store.

Plus none of the interesting Special Buys or alcohol are listed - and that's the main reason I visit Aldi.

  • Did a rough calculation and there's a 0-14% Markup on items with a 2 Litre milk the same price as in store (2.99), but on 2 other items their is roughly a 14% markup with Fresh orange juice costing 4.99 in-store and 5.69 via doordash and french fries 3.49 and 3.99 online.

Plus with the 4.99 minimum service fee which goes upto a capped 9.99, there's not as much saving here with probably an under 10% saving in total. If you can combine with a giftcard saving that will add to the percentage and there also the saving from not having to go to the store.

  • If you click into the T&C It looks like if you use EARLYBIRD on your first DoorDash order you'll get 30% off your first order AND then they'll send you another promo code later to get up to $100 off at ALDI.

Anyone remember when Coles charges the same price on DD as they did in-store, and they included specials? Now everything seems to be a blanket 10% more, plus 10% service fee, no specials.

    • Yeah Coles got rid of in-store specials on DD several months ago. They even made an announcement over it due to the backlash they were getting. To this day it still pisses me off they did that. Coles and Woolworths are really trying hard to make sure people don't save money anymore.

      • Automation might bring it back. When they don't need to pay anyone to pick the order or deliver it.

  • Can't wait for this to come to Melbourne… all my life I've been dying to try Aldi stuff but due to lower back pain and suffering with agoraphobia I've never had the chance too. I even have an Aldi about 10-15 minutes away from where I live.

I hope they get Melbourne stores added ASAP.
