I haven't been recommending Olay for a while now because of their increasingly uncompetitive pricing. But today's Prime deals taking 62-67% off makes them a good buy. If you're after some skincare with good ingredients without too many steps and don't care about percentages of active ingredients, this will be suitable for you.

Super Serum $25.19 (RRP $69.99)

A multi-purpose serum with multiple active ingredients to simplify your routine. Can be used day and night. Actives include niacinamide, lactic acid, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5). There have been very positive reviews, but note that it has quite a strong fragrance so avoid if you're sensitive to scents. There is fragrance-free night version that has a very similar ingredients list but it's only 50% off. See Labmuffin post for detailed review.

Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Moisturiser, Fragrance-Free 50g $22.79 (RRP $59.99) EXPIRED

Suitable for retinol beginners, but start slow by using once every 2-3 nights to ease into it. Retinol can cause irritation but you can build up tolerance.

Regenerist Retinol24 Face Serum, Fragrance-Free 30ml $19.93 (RRP $59.99) EXPIRED

If you already have moisturisers and just want to start incorporating retinol, you can add this step before your moisturiser. You don't need both the Retinol24 night cream and night serum. If you want more retinol, there are stronger products that you can use in one step instead of buying both.
As with the night cream, start slow by using once every 2-3 nights to ease into it. Retinol can cause irritation but you can build up tolerance.

This priceline listing page has been around since last Christmas I think, and has been OOS for a while.

        You’re right, my mistake!

  • Thanks @moocher! Have you tried the super serum yourself? I generally am a fan of Olay, and niacinamide plays nice with my skin. My only concern is how to fit it in my routine - I use tret every other night so this might be too much on off-tret nights. I am very tempted and will likely still buy and go really sloooow in testing it and experimenting with how best to incorporate into my routine. Any suggestions or feedback?

    • I haven't tried it myself, as I have too many serums already in my routine, as well as tret. Assuming you don't have other acids or serums in your routine, then I think this will complement tret nicely. Yeah - Olay says you can use the super serum (the one in this post, not the 'night' version) day or night so you could use the super serum on the off-tret nights or in the day.

      • Good point, I didn’t think about using the day or night one during the day - that might work nicely for me. I’ll give it a go, sounds like an amazing product I should at least try and see if it works for my skin and routine. Thanks again!!!

Hope it works out! You probably already are but do use face sunscreen during the day - even more important when on tret or acids (which the super serum does have)

          • @moocher: Thank you 🙏 yes sunscreen is so important! On a somewhat related note, it’s been interesting to watch and read about the unfolding situation following the tests of sunscreens initiated by Choice. I really like Labmuffin’s take on things.

@ectogammat: Yes Michelle @ Labmuffin is great, she always gives good reasons and facts for her opinions.
