$48 is pretty expensive for a 5-Port switch.

For a gigabit switch, yes. This is not a gigabit switch, it's a 2.5Gb switch

I have this switch and while useful I've started looking for something with a PoE passthrough option; the significant power supply on this switch makes it a bit annoying to work with

    • I'm in the same boat. Keen to know what option you're leaning towards getting

@GJT I'm looking at the Ubiquiti Flex (not mini) as an option; we use Unifi devices in the house so it'd be an easy change for us

    • Why not get a gigabit switch with POE and just daisy chain them together? I can't think of anything POE powered that would need 2.5 gigabit.

      • I have my Unifi Dream Router, which has a PoE port. At the moment that goes (mindlessly) to my TP link switch which is actually powered via mains. What I want to do is use PoE to power a targeted switch, which in turn has its own PoE passthrough so that I can also power, and provide ethernet to, my Unifi AP which services the back of the house.
