prob could even cheeky try it out in store, otherwise just return it in store , ALDI always been pretty forgiving with returns - someone recommended celestron 10 x 50's last time for a pair of cheapies but i havent seen it south of $80 for some time.

I haven't tried the binoculars, but I did buy the Signify $79 spotting telescope.

    It's complete garbage.

The optics are poor quality. I tried using it in shooting competitions, but at 25m the target and holes are visible but blurry. At 50m completely invisible. Loads of colour aberration and blur, which is a common problem in low end optics. I ended up buying a Gosky telescope for $300 and the quality difference is enormous.

Having said that, maybe ALDI's binocular supplier is better than their telescopes. There's always the satisfaction guarantee you can rely on and return the product if unhappy.

  • ALDI,
    Good, Different.

    Maybe worth looking into.

  • I've played with high end scopes in one of my past hobbies and have owned both low end monoculars and scopes and some more upper end ones. Optics you generally get what you pay for. With these I'd expect to be able to see more at range than with just your eyes but the image won't be crisp and detailed.

Guarantee you’ll get chromatic aberration with them. Tinges of rainbow colours on the peripheral. Good optics comes at a price.

You'd probably get a pair 10 x better for <twice the Aldi price, at Cashies. Try before you buy. Google what faults to look for first and what brand names are superior. You may even luck out on GT if you do some homework first and use due dilligence. (Avoid brand new sellers and again, try them first do homework as above)

  • Look at the Nikon binos from amazon, you can get what is really excellent optics for $120 to $150.
As other's have said you get what you pay for. Better to invest as they will last basically forever if looked after.
