I'm in the market to upgrade. Have always gone with Galaxy S phones.
What are the thoughts of our OZB experts here in regards to comparing, say the S25 and this Pixel 9? What differences could/should I expect?

Samsung has a faster processor and better screen. Pixel 9 has better photos. Samsung has OneUI which allows a lot of customisation these days and is polished. Pixel 9 offers the 'Google' experience, basically more simplified. Would also argue S25 has better phone reception too as it uses a Qualcomm radio which is the industry leader.
Samsungs are built better
Only reason i would buy one of these over a Samsung phone is because i can degoogle the pixel and install grapheneos. Otherwise Samsung are better in every other way
S25 $1137 vs this. Big difference. Personally I'd stick to Samsung if you are used too it. My wife hated her Pixel 9 pro, Used to S series. I recently got the wife a S24 256gb for $697 which was posted here via officeworks. Sold out now. Maybe HODL. Imo 128gb is not enough.
Amazon have the pixel 9a for $749. Assume Officeworks price beat that by 5% .. decent price vs the Pixel 9?

Trade in offer for my Pixel 7 is $180 + $30 Perks = $210 bring the phone down to $557. Is this a good upgrade?
If history serves, there is usually far more significant trade in deals on new release where they supplement the trade in value substantially. You might get a pixel 10 for less.
My budget for a new phone is around $500 though. Will it come closer to that during the first year of launch? I normally wait for a year for the phone to come down in price.
