I didn't know I was gonna buy a new set, but here we are.

Get yourself a code from Student Beans for a further $40 off to bring it down to $239.95.

The one on sale from Amazon is the SC version, short for soft case and only comes in black, that's the only difference. While I don't care about the case, I could use a set that is not black.

HN ($288) and JB Hi-fi (White Smoke $275) both have them on sale if you don't have access to Student Beans/have gift cards.

Edit: Bose has dropped the price further and now the pink colour is on sale for $299. It says temporarily out of stock but shouldn't take too long if you order now.

    • Better case, BOSE also has 90 day trial

    • grey import

    • Its also sold by 3rd party, not by dicksmith.

  • Thanks, didn't know student beans had bose codes!

  • The price has dropped a bit further, if you have already ordered like I have, you want to take a screenshot of the current price on their website, then wait for the headphones to arrive, and contact Bose for a refund of the difference. I am very much tempted to return this and get a pink one now ;)

  • Review on QC vs QC Ultra
    https://www.soundguys.com/bose-quietcomfort-ultra-headphones…

Found another thread on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/bose/s/3SQdh9gL9b

Apparently with the Ultra SC “the touch is extremely sensitive- like, my damn strands of hair will pause, change, and do all functions of the touch. VERY annoying.”

This verifies the soundguy post “The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones uses a touch-sensitive slider to control volume, a power/Bluetooth button to handle turning on and off, and a multifunction button for everything else. You can also long-press the volume slider for a shortcut function that must first be defined in the Bose Music app.”

What you linked isn’t ultra, it’s the sc version of this. If you are asking about ultra, it’s currently above $320 or something on sale. From my research so far, it’s marginally better in terms of anc and that’s about it. The biggest disappointment from ultra reviewers lies with the touch controls, which is very surprising. The general consensus is ultra is better for sure, but not that much better that it justifies the price difference.

You do have 75 days or something like that to decide if you want to keep the headphones.

      • Thank you. Yes I did realise the link is the same as the one you posted for QC Soft case on Amazon. I decided to keep the one from Bose store.

  • First time with ANC headphones. Got these and found the constant noise floor/white noise static from the ANC to be too loud and noticeable (coming from space a40) that I can still hear while listening to music at lower volumes where the left side has more of it than the right. I get frequent crackling/popping noise that occurs most when starting or stopping/pausing audio on both my pc and phone. I also got frequent loud brief distortion/crackle noise (I think connectivity issues) until I turned off multipoint. Not used to headphones so found the fit a little uncomfortable with my ears getting warm but maybe it will get better overtime. Might have to get a replacement but unsure whether to try the ultras (maybe better fit & ANC) or get the earbud version (but unsure how on par its ANC is). Anyone else having a similar experience?

    • I did read someone saying turning off multipoint fixed some issues. Does limit the functionality though so not ideal.

Guessing you updated to the latest firmware already?

      • +1

It was already on the latest firmware version out of the box, disabling multipoint seems to reduce the frequent crackling/popping noise while audio is playing but not when audio starts playing or pausing/stopping. Along with the loud white noise, it makes the headphone quite infuriating to use. I've gotten a bit more used to the fit but it still makes my ears warm and a little sore after extended use from the clamping although I'm still experimenting with the fit. I might just utilise the 90-day return policy and try the others before getting a replacement.

  • My old ANC headphones just died. Saw this and jump straight on it, but the price is now showing as $479.95 AUD for all colours.

Did I just miss the boat by a day or two?

    • +1

They were most likely matching Prime sales, yes, you missed just a day or so. The next round might have to be Black Friday, need to make do with random $10 headphones until then.

  • I have decided to return mine. It works great for listening, but for phone calls it's completely useless. The other side could barely hear me, and I had to use my phone instead. Not sure if it's isolated, no complaints otherwise.
