Can I use this as an access point? I'm currently renting and have limited control over landlords setup.

    • +3

      Yes you can

    • Already good that landlord agree to let you use their internet.

    • +2

Assuming you're currently connecting directly to the landlord's Wifi, I'd be more inclined to run this in router mode and create your own subnet and protect your devices via the firewall rather than AP mode.

    Crazy price!

Dedicated router for Meta Quest / VR, thanks!

    • Can I ask how you use this / the benefits over ethernet connection from PC to home network?

      • Google "how to use a dedicated router for vr" - having a dedicated router / AP for VR should give a fast and stable connection if you configure it properly.

I will use a basic Wifi 7 router (which is a glorified wifi 5 router really) for home network and this new wifi 6 router specifically for VR so my other internet devices don't conflict with the VR streaming.

  • Good price but the speed is limited.

Mesh network if I buy 2?

    • Plenty for a lot of people with basic usage (streaming, home office setup) !

    • +1

You cant run these in mesh.

Expired showing as 139.90 and drops to 68 odd?

    • Prime members only!

    • The coupon applied for me when checking out.

    • I also see it as 139.90

  • can this be used as a travel router to connect to hotel wifis?

    • Yes it could but it's bigger than your normal travel router (155 x 120 x 23mm )

  • +1

bought 2 to use as APs, thanks OP!

    • +1

how to connect them as AP?

      • +1

cat6 from the router, will post the exact settings on device once I receive them

      • +2

As easy as connecting from a LAN port on your source router to the WAN port of the Marble, logging into the Marble and then going to Network->Network Mode . > Access Point :)

  • +1

How does this compare to using a Telstra Smart Modem 2 (used as a router)?

    • This is a much more configurable, stable, and reliable router that doesn’t overheat like my Telstra Smart Modem Gen 3 did every day, but it doesn’t have a built in LTE modem to use with a SIM card nor any usb expansion ports.

  • +1

Pretty good price, but I don't need it…must resist.

  • Bought, was looking for wifi 6 router to replace netcomm nf18mesh. Is it a good replacement, and have better range/speed than nf18mesh? I can see it has higher speed, but not sure about range.

    • Range is on the lower end for a router (1,500 square feet or 140 square meters). That kind of range is more like an access point range (i.e. Ubiquiti UniFi U6 Pro / U7 Pro).

I plan to use mine as an access point and try out / explore GL.iNet's firmware. While I prefer to go direct / plain OpenWRT, at this price, it is hard to resist and a nice toy.

  • Will this get openwrt?

  • Can I connect using fiber optic cable directly?

    • +2

No the fibre connects to the NBN NTD which acts as the modem. Then you connect the WAN ethernet cable from that into this which can act as a router/switch/access point

  • +1

    …and it's gone!

  • +1

    OOS ffs. :(

  • +1

Got it for around $15 with all discounts!

  • bought 1 $34.97. don't need it (yet). at this price can afford to have a look, try it out.
    thanks OP

  • +1

    In cart, and gone

  • Oos

  • +1

FYI these don't support mesh wifi.

  • Damn was in stock for a min, gone already.

    • Try now. It's back.

  • Thanks op, another glinet for new vpn content to stream on tv.

  • Back in stock. 3 units left. Got one.

    • but can't buy, still showing some problem

  • too late, sold out

  • +4

The one thing I wanted in this sale was a new router. Sigh

  • +2

Without mesh function, it is a deal breaker.

  • Delivered already.

  • The one morning you don't check ozB …. great for those who got this. Would been a treat had i seen it

  • flint 2 or this?

  • +1

Can anyone confirm if they got a picture frame included? Seems like an interesting pairing of products!
