Help Me Find a LTE Router

Hi, I'm trying to find a half decent (but affordable) LTE router which I can plug in a 4G or 5G sim into.

The router would need to be able to have:
Bridge mode pass-through.
Ethernet port (2 ideal).
higher than 300mbps throughput on Wi-Fi.
ability to run VPN (Wireguard).

Looking for something less than $150 if possible. Thank you.

Good luck trying to find something that is 5G under $150 plus has all those features. I've been trying to find just a 5G Hotspot with Ethernet Port. I just bought one for $350 Second Hand on eBay and it has 1 Ethernet Port.

You will likely need to compromise and potentially purchase a 5G Router with Ethernet capabilities, and then a mobile GL.iNet device to handle the rest.

But thats going to be more than $150. You can get a 4G Travel Router cheap enough..

Is this for home use? or on the go/portable use?

  • Ideally, would like to have backup cel connection for my UDM pro, so looking for something to pass through to Ethernet which i can stuff into the spare WAN port. The need for WG would be for another separate project - remote access back to home via WG.

Okay, that is fine. Alternatively, you could get a Router > Switch > then you can plug whatever you want into that. The Switch could just be a 5 port TP Link switch that are like $15.

https://www.jw.com.au/product/inseego-wavemaker-5g-indoor-ro… This might tick your box, only $200. It just wouldn't be able to run a VPN (I think). Why couldn't you run the VPN through the UDM?

      • Thanks for this - I am going to get one - seems to do all I need via the manual. Cheers.

your requirements of bridge mode but also having routing functions are contradictory

get a 4g/5g modem and separate router

    • Many routers have this functionality - I'm simply looking for a sim card enabled variant.
