    Philips Pasta Maker $189

    Does it make Tortellini?

    • +2

You can used the lasagna sheet extruder attachment and the roll your own tortellini. But then again I don't think you were asking a serious question, just a rhetorical one.

      • Ive tried this and it's fiddly.
        But it's a great machine

        • Yeah I tried making ravioli with the flat sheets, it didn't work out.

  • +1

    How's the wash up

    • +1

I have the older model, it's fairly easy to clean. I remove the bulk of the dough from all the parts and then let the smaller crevasses dry (a couple minutes) then I'll use the brush to clean that off before washing up. The biggest pain is the number of parts and space they take up to dry.

      • Also most is dishwasher safe. The only part that isn't is the external front cover that doesn't really get dirty.

  • These are well made. Home made noodles are great.

  • I own one of the older variants of this thing, and I've been loving how quickly it actually works.

    • Set your pot on the stove to boil
    • Measure out your flour, egg and water
    • Start the machine
    • Wait 3 mins for it to finish churning
    • Spend 2 minutes gathering the pasta it spits out

And by the time you have a plate of pasta ready to cook, your water has just started boiling and you're ready to drop it in. Cooks quicker than dried pasta, so it's actually even faster from pantry to plate than just boiling up some dried stuff.

Cleaning isn't super painful afterwards, just wait for the wet dough to dry and brush most of it out, before a quick rinse. Super happy with mine!

  • Best thing about home made pasta is adding flavourings such as tomato paste or squid ink. Game changing pasta
