Bought this recently on the back of doing some research on the miniPC subreddit compared to the Geekom A5 2025 PC that was posted here recently.

Cant find CCC history but this particular miniPC appears to be one of the more better value AMD-based ones with integrated graphics that are actually decent so long as you temper expectations.

RAM can be expanded to 64GB (speed-limited to DDR5 4800) and you can add a second NVME SSD if need be; the top 40mm fan can also be replaced with a Noctua 40mm with some additional cabling work needed; spare parts (so top fan and CPU fan) are also available on Amazon and AliExpress if need be.

Price History at C CamelCamelCamel.

    This seems expensive?

It would be dearer than AliExpress but benefit is you get to only deal with Amazon for returns so cheaper to sort out eventually. Cheaper AMD minipcs are either one generation lower than this, or are from unknown/little known manufacturers

Someone replied on the expired Geekom A5 post that we are now at this stage where getting PCs that have DDR5 would be better, especially for miniPCs since DDR4 pricing will probably get more expensive anyway.

An alternative could be the Beelink EQR6 which has a 6800U CPU (lower TDP than the H series) but has more RAM and an inbuilt power supply which could be an issue but its still a good alternative.

      • It might be a good deal. I'm out of the loop but the specs look underpowered for 2025. I think something with an AMD HX 370 (or even better a 395 Max - yum!) would be swell for a good price.

        • Cant argue with you on that. If I didnt have a gaming PC already then I would have looked at a miniPC with that CPU and Occulink port so that you can use an external GPU enclosure as well.

Alas, I bought the PC for my parents to replace an ex-corp Dell Optiplex that has a PSU that is nearly on its last legs. I worked out that this time around I am probably better off getting them this than another ex-corp Dell/HP running an i5 8500 or i5 9500 at least.

        • The HX370 options, even on Ali, are > double the price LOL.

Also, underpowered for what? Office / web / HTPC, heck, even e-sports on low settings this will be more than fine.

Another option for some is to find a laptop with a broken screen. It is a great way to get newer mobile CPUs in a cheaper package. Otherwise, a mini PC is tidier, can handle some more components, and has better cooling.

    • As in you plug it into an external monitor?

      • Yeah. Lot of people use these things as little home servers, so most of the time they are running headless anyway. So it is a great way to recycle a broken laptop.

I bought one of these for about half of this in the last sale back in January

    • It's was $329 and it didn't last long nor has it been that price ever. A steal at that price but $400 is decent too.

  • I'd pay a little more for either the Bosgame variant ($459 24/512GB with 2 x USB C) or the Origimagic variant ($468.30 32/512GB also with 2 x USB C) with the same processor.
