Not good value for money in my experience. I have tried multiple shops over years (for single vision distance prescription), and the best value for money is when specsaver have any 2 for $200 offer with:
    1. Ultra light frames, marked $400 (for normal glasses or transitions, 1.6 index is included)
    2. Titanium frames, marked $350 (for transitions with 1.6 index or polarised sunnies)
It normal cost me 275 for normal and polarised sunnies, or 350 for transition+1.6 index(if titanium range) and polarised sunnies. I just find 1.5 index for sunnies good enough for sunnies.

When i tried costco, it cost me $400 including all of their offers for sunnies and clear glass with their cheap kirkland branded frames. Transition instead of normal is additional $120 (minus 20% discount they give multiple pairs). The default thickness is 1.59.

    • Have you asked what brand of lens specsavers uses?
Do you realise transition is a brand and not offered by specsavers?

Costco in Australia uses hoya branded lenses, they offer ttsensity as their photochromic lenses .

      • I haven’t asked about the brand, i think they call reactions. As far as i know, their reactions are thinner than costco’s ones and last longer. The costco’s photo chromatic are the worst photo chromatic ones i ever had and barely lasted a year, and coatings started peeling off at various spots.

  • How are Costco prices v Specssaver$ ? For entire package? tinting, thinning, anti glare etc
We all know that they buy frames for $2 each and resell them to use for $199 LOL and then scam the health insurance provider as well

  • What's the cheapest option for a pair of glasses that will last just a few months? Are the online chinese stores still any good? Has anyone had any experience with Optometrist Warehouse?

    • $40 at Specsavers if you want a walk in shop. Clearly.com.au have some delivered for like $16 last I checked.
